Awww, poor Jeanie Beanie. :(
You (we all, for that matter) get like that because that's what alcohol does, brings all this stuff that's been simmering on the backburner to a high boil.
In my opinion drinking is the absolute *worst* thing you can do when you're feeling even the slightest twinge of being down. Drown your sorrows and you find it too hard to keep your head above water. It's like every other poison I suppose. You can't go into a trip when you're feeling even a little blue.
Get well Jeanie, good times await real soon!!

Partying in general does that, it just seems to happen sooner with alcohol. Booze doesn't wait until the comedown to get you emotional, it attacks at the peak of the party. Other drugs, esp. stimulants at least let you party hard first, then send you onto the Blue Mondays.
I think that's one of the reasons why I enjoy pills as much as I do. It's easy to get thrown off your game while clubbing by a rude person pushing through, or a friend being a dick, or naff music when you're drunk or sober. Or even just having random thoughts come to mind, esp. when things are bothering you. And once thrown off, it's sometimes hard to get back in the spirit of things.
Although I hate to describe it this way, pills push all those things into the background for the duration of the ride. They certainly don't solve the problems, and if you use them too much can perhaps make them worse because you don't ever address the issues. But they do certainly open a window of time where you can just have pure, unadulterated fun. Or so goes my ramble for today.

Oh, the same night as Wink and Holden are spinning, Spundae's headliner is DJ Icey, apparent "king of the funky breaks". Icey is well-regarded and is actually the guy who convinced Tom & Ed to play their first ever show on American soil back in 1993. More details are yet to come.
I'd MUCH rather see Wink and Holden, but we've got options.

I can say from experience, certain feel good drugs (you know which ones!) helped ease me out of a long downward spiral. I won't credit them solely, because there are some things such as music - which how I've arrived here in this place - I've discovered when coming out of that horrible state that are far more everlasting.
I think it depends on the person going into it, and the severity of where their head is at the beginning of the trip. And of course moderation comes into play, but that all comes with being in tune with yourself. Drugs should never substitute what you need to work out in your life, but aside from them being loads of fun - that's just a positive side effect - I am certainly not opposed to what they can achieve therapeutically.

I'd be down with breaks @ Spundae. That club is stellar, a must see for anyone coming to visit me and stash.

Absolutely. Sometimes a good night out is all that's needed to clear away all the funk. Sometimes a deeply emotional experience can dredge up issues and allow open conversation and contemplation. I don't think that, in general (exceptions, of course, I'm sure), drugs alone will solve problems, but they certainly can be useful tools in doing so.

Spundae is a pretty cool club, and I do like breaks a great deal, so I wouldn't be too disappointed .... but Wink and Holden is a little higher on the appeal scale for me. Mental aciiiieeeeed! :D Either way, good times ahead.

Pilled and thrilled! I have dealers, yes, dealers in the plural. This is new and exciting for me. Allow me my noobish embarassment.
Tonight I just rolled on down the mountain at a wicked 80's night club. The DJ dropped 'True Faith' upon my request and it made my night. Along with running into friends I haven't seen for SO long.
