Well I certainly can't compete with irishfan! Damn, son!

I don't have it in me to post a tremendous list (I don't even think I can remember everything given the festivals and raves where I saw big acts, not to mention opening bands). And I certainly am not going to bother with specific dates!

Seen Tom and Ed 7 times now.

Seen U2 10 times, the first show (and my first concert ever in 1985 - my ticket cost me a grand total of $14.50).

Go ahead and laugh but my second concert I went to was John Cougar Mellencamp (back when he was silly enough to have cougar in his name). He actually put on a good show.

Fairport Convention - kind of boring but the electric fiddle player was really really good.

Jerry Garcia - the parking lot was sadly a lot more entertaining than the actual show was. Then I felt bad for feeling that way because Jerry Garcia ended up having a heart attack a few days later.

Steven Stills - saw this one on Catalina Island and it was an adventure getting to and fro. Actually I don't remember much of the boat ride home, haha.

Paul McCartney 2 times now - once in the early 90's with my 2 cousins, and last weekend at Coachella. He's a fucking legend!

Johnny Winter - scary albino due with long white hair and tons of tattoos. Stumbling drunk but his fingers were on fire. Excellent show.

Stan Ridgeway - Saw him at a small venue and he was most excellent. Jumped on our table and sang Mexican Radio which was pretty sweet.

Pink Floyd (during the Division Bell tour) - I could write a novel on the experience of this show. Still remains one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

Ben Harper - back when he was nobody and first starting out. He must've had at least 15 guitars and other lute/mandolin/etc type stringed instruments on stage and he played every one of them. Super talented guy, super nice guy too.

Oingo Boingo - saw their last ever show. On Halloween with lots of people dressed as characters from Nightmare Before Christmas. Fun show and was literally like a circus on stage.

David Bowie and NIN... They were touring together. I think it was 1995, maybe 1996.

Peter Murphy - he was all right. He was feeling under the weather when I saw him.

VNV Nation - I somehow managed to end up seeing VNV twice without even trying. Once in Orange County and another time at a club called Death Guild in San Francisco. The singer has most positive attitude of any singer I've seen on stage.

Apoptigma Berzerk - I don't even care if I spelled the name right. They kept everyone waiting for well over an hour, didn't give a shit about their audience and were a load of pretentious wankers. They should have opened for VNV Nation and not the other way around.

Underworld - saw them at the very first Coachella, before Darren left the band. Utterly fantastic show.

Paul Oakenfold - saw him at Nocturnal Wonderland in 2001. Bo-ring. And his Jesus poses were old before he even struck his first one on stage that night.

Groove Armada - saw them also at Nocturnal 2001. Is it just me or are they really really tall? Anyway, they were funky and chill. I liked that.

Kasabian - I saw them a couple of years ago in a venue that is not there anymore. Loved their raw energy.

Spiritualized - saw him at the first Coachella and they were also one of the bright spots in the shit storm that was my 2008. Love them. Love Spiritualized so much...

Gawd, I know there's a lot more I need to add to this list. But I think I'm done for now.

it was really good. Kinda lame that they put seats everywhere in the place though. That's the kind of concert you'd want to be up

Yeah, assigned seating can be a pain because you're stuck in one spot all night. The one benefit was if you had good seats, they were yours all night (handy too if some jerkoff tried to steal your seat you could show security your ticket and they'd remove the offender. Also if you needed to use the toilets or get a drink or something, you have a place to come back to). The first few concerts I went to were big arena shows that had assigned seating. The first show I went to that had general admission blew my mind, hahaha.

For assigned seating, are you folks in Europe not allowed to stand up as long as you were in front of the seat area? Or were you expected to sit there through the show?
