Why not a country album ? :D

I hate Soul Auctioneer :/

I think I would either kill myself if they decided to go country or if I had enouth time before that to listen to them make country cool, then maybe that would work :D

I think we could make a sect and do a collective suicide, with fire or whatever we would find...

i think that to make country cool it whould not be country any more/

if the chems were to go country it would still be techno.

how about kenny rogers or the dixie chics as collaboraters...surrender to the nascar..yeehaww..

I wouldn't mind a 5-track EP of demented tracks as a prelude to Chemical 6.

Yeah, I was hoping for an EP CD to finish off the PTB singles (like American EP for Come with us) but with the The Boxer reaching such a poor position in the UK charts you can't blame them for trying the download route.

No, not really. The label's only going to release something if it will sell and, despite how well Push the Button was received, it petered out quickly from a sales perspective.

Still, an EP or single ahead of time might start to generate hype for Chemical 6. Y'know, get the excitement flowing ahead of time.

Yeah thats what I'm trying to say (badly!) mate, the Boxer did sell poorly so Tom and Ed / Virgin came to the idea its not worth the hassle of a full CD / 12" release.

But yeah an EP would be cool of course...

At least on this side of the Atlantic, Virgin/Astralwerks desperately needs to work harder on Tom & Ed's behalf if they're going to turn much of a profit.

There was NO promotional work for Push the Button over here. I never saw any of the three videos played once. Never heard any of the three singles on the radio once. Never saw any posters or promotional material once. Never heard any of the tunes played in music stores once.

I mean, these are former #1 hitmaking artists, you'd think the label would want to market them and turn a profit.

(And no, you didn't say it badly at all, I totally knew what you meant.)

As I've said before, I think Astralwerks could've done better if they had released a US chart eligible single of Believe. That was such a strong track, would've/could've done well here and kept the interest level piqued.

Simply, too much time had passed between Galvanize and The Boxer to keep the interest at a plateau at best.

But that's neither here nor there. Push The Button enjoyed a lot of success and that's really cool.

To be fair, Astralwerks worked hard including fans to work on the street team - you know, stuff like calling radio stations, flyering coffee shops and record stores, that kind of thing. I think the label did do well with giving the supplies for the street teams. Free advertising and free manpower! Which is just as well because the from what I saw, the label reps definitely had so much on their plate.

And there's another thing too. EMD (who deals with Astralwerks among other labels) merged with another major lable... I *think* although my memory is a bit fuzzy. There were a few label mergers over the past couple of years so I could be way off base.

I think there were probably a lot of executive decisions at play here as to why things happened the way they happened. Astralwerks have always been good to the Chems and I can't see Astralwerks deserting them now all of a sudden but maybe it was forces beyond the band or label's control? Wish I knew.

In France, I think I saw one ad for Push the Button on TV, heard Galvanize several times on the radio (and i never listen to the radio, so it was in shops, or in my parents car, etc...)

But electro music is not really appreciated by the large audience in France. Things would have been much different if all those pricks of teenager don't listen to crappy french r'n'b/hip hop... We have a plague called "M Pokora". He won something like Pop Idol and now he does a solo carrier but doing r'n'b... All the 11 to 17 years old girls are crazy about him...

Disappointingly, there was no Canadian street team, or else I would have been all over that.

Just a shambles of a marketing effort, at least north of 49, in my opinion. A total joke. And not a funny one. Tom & Ed would be spinning in their graves.... er, well...... yeah......

My eyes! The goggles do nothing! I guess if he's on TV he must be good. X-D So he went from TV to music, next move will be to the movies obviously. Those marketing morons have done it again.

Btw, what are those? Overalls?! Dexys Midnight Runners would be spinning in their graves. The shame, the shame of it all. :(

same shit overhere! That's because i don't like the way music industry works.... selling figures is what counts!!! Nothing more and nothing less. But in the end you'll see, love to music is the spirit of music, the way you feel about music, the way you live music and NOT making music just because to become famos. Those people don't hold their breath for long in this kind of business whithout that spirit!

Yeah an EP would be wicked. I love the music response EP.

Do you people reckon that EBW8 will make the album and will the new intro track?
