This is pure comedy. I take the time to answer, and I'm being civil (except for calling someone a carrot) and you call me a troll. I wonder what you call a cabbage. Maybe "forklift" or something?

lawl.

Too bad you don't get energy from Further. It's been the opposite for me--I get tremendous amounts of energy from the album. I've been biking with it the past couple of weeks and have had some amazing moments out on the road.

That might explain it. I never had the patience to go biking.

I can see how one with preferences for older chem stuff might not like Snow. But Another World reminds me a bit of EPD--the vocals sound a bit like Chico's Groove but faster, ending up in those great acid-synth sweeps. Dissolve has some really great beats reminiscent of something between DYOH/Surrender and that flanged synth is pretty brutal and catchy. Horsepower is obviously a banger with roots in their pre-PTB work. And then the main synth in Swoon also feels like a evolution of something from EPD, but sped up.

Thinking about it in this context... well, I think Further is actually a pretty natural progression. *shrug*

My bike seat hurts my butt, but I really enjoy Further, too.

And carrot, jeez man what the hell, hahaha

For the record, to help clear up any misconceptions about this mysterious Frans character who has magically popped into the forum and pissed in our cheerios. I have to go to bat for him because, as a lot of you are friends to me in my life on AND off these forums, he is one of them too, and though it seems like he's a troll or a fairweather fan, he's not. He has very strong opinions that uhm... can be exceptionally abrasive if taken personally.

As much as I like talking about music and stuff, I always thought arguing about it is too much like arguing over politics and religion, so I shy away. Plus, I suck at flaming people. Music is really subjective and it can be personal. Nobody is able to listen through our own ears. Thank GOD. So if someone says they don't like something, or they think it sucks - it's really really hard but try not to let personal feelings escalate into personal issues with each other. It's hard and I'll be honest - sometimes I really, really want to bitchslap people, but I won't say who  At the end of the day it's just opinions, about subjective things we hear through our own ears - and we all have these opinions. And you know the rest of that saying. :D
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

I really want to bitchslap Frans. We heard it once he doesn't like the Chems music anymore - he doesn't need to keep pissing all over this thread.
Or put up at least a decent point of view - not it sounds like 3 yr olds with casios - that's all you got?

Reading isn't one of your strong points. Look at what I said:

About as much effort as Tom and Ed put into Further, because I can't imagine that it's going any further than the imagination of a three year old with a brand new casio keyboard.

I talk about EFFORT. Not about how it sounds. And I'm not pissing all over this thread, I'm posting. That's what a forum is for, you know.

I agree reading doesn't seem to be a strong point my end. I tried finding if you've written anything more than those 2 lines in your million posts here suddenly? Any real review like comments of the songs, why u think they sound like effort from a 3 yr old's imagination with a brand new casio? like why don't u like a swoon? or a dissolve? why?

Well, that's another thing. "Oh it's cool because it's a reference" or "it's an inside joke" or whatever. That does not make it GOOD. :) Nice to see another Street Fighter fan. Shoryureppa!!!!!!!!!!!

but it does! Maybe if you're a fan of New Order it would help, but I love little things like that. It's the same with me for films, where the Director puts in little things here and there that mean something or have a story but are not initially obvious.

What in the hell is Shoryueppa? Is it what Ryu shouts after he suffers a stroke from the jolt of Ken's Ha-Do-Ken?

Ahhhhhhahahahahaha... Nice.

@Fran: You're clever, and it's nice to see someone with adverse opinions about the new album respectfully posting on the forum. It's not quite clear, though, what type of merit you look for in artistic work if you label Further as taking no more effort to create than an infant might put into banging away on a keyboard. It's a rather well put-together album with some fantastically constructed moments that no three year-old would even come close to creating, save for maybe a prodigy or two. Maybe your long review will shed some light on what you're basing your rather harsh critique.

Isn't that the uppercut sound.

All the chems albums sound drastically different, not everyone is going to dig the change and not everyone would dig lack of change. Respectuppa!

For everything there is an answer, and most of them now come from Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia....reet_Fighter%29

"While Ryu and Ken follow the same martial arts discipline, as the Street Fighter series evolved, the differences between the two characters was portrayed by their attacks: Ryu focused on technique while Ken opted for stylish unpredictability. His Shōryū-ken (昇龍拳?, "Rising Dragon Fist") does only one hit, so Ryu can effectively use this move at full power against airborne opponents."

You've ruined my moment Madpoot. I don't have very many opportunities to share my knowledge with people because it just covers Street Figher II and pr0nz. Fuck it, i'll do it anyway!

I am shure that hardcore fans of chems will dig the change.. I would call it a defenetely the conceptual album, the fact that for the very first time there are no collaborations (am I right?) speaks for itself.. And that's a very interesting direction of chems.. "Lifting me higher.." - the beginning track is just mindblowing.. I wish I could see them live this time.. It seems even on youtube more powerfull than the previous shows..

Each time I listen to Further I am blown away ... to me it is like music, not just from another planet, but from another galaxy. I can understand why some people won't get it, not many people I know do. But if you do get it you soon realise how fucking amazing this album is. I think this album is way ahead of its time ..
