yey whirlygirl! go go go!

u'r gonna love the cd quality if u'r planning to blast! just check out the drums n bass on all rights reserved now!

i've had the album on constant rotation since we got it here - first the mp3s, now the promo audio cd - i haven't changed the cd in my car in 2 months now.

tho honestly i think i'm gonna give it a break soon - it's the first time in my life i don't find a full experience on this album - the first half of the album upto do it again is too good, then there are too many very different songs - songs i think i'm getting a tad weirded out by, for now - i can't wait for the live bootlegs!

I have some sort of weird thing going on with my stomach, like I've got a touch of the flu and left work early (no stash, it's not WATN-coli you know I've never ditched a day of work in my life). Just had a Pepto but feel blech.

I got my cd (god I love Japanese imports) and will listen soon, through headphones. Everything will be groovy on that front. I can't wait to hear this in all its splendour! I'm hoping the magical healing power of the Chems will see me through.

I still think you must have that same flu I catch when a new PS3 game comes out ;)

either that or you're suffering from salmon poisoning.

My stomach is in hell but my ears are in heaven.

I am going to force you to listen to this through headphones whether you want to or not. It's like a different album. I mean seriously. This goes to 11!

There's a glitch in Saturate, just as Joslyn said on the first page. But I can't complain too hard. The album is awesome!

Burst Generator freaks me out big time. Actually, all of it is freaking me out (in a good way). I think I need to lie down...

Screw the head phones, pop it in the Sound System and crank it up to 50... there's no neighbors home right now.

I can't... Connor will cry if he can't watch his Futurama.

Harpoons... I think I developed a whole new appreciation and love for this track. It's not only swimmy, but there are these fluttery sounds percolating throughout the song that are much more pronounced than before.

God help me. The Pills Won't Help You Now is on next...

ooooooooooooooo Bonus time!! First time hearing Seal.

I like it, good first impressions and will hopefully add more thoughts later after more listens. There's a seductive groove going on - I dare say there's almost a middle eastern type thing going on in some parts with the melody and even the percussion, but there's quirkiness too that's evident in this track (but it's not dominating). Lots of layers, very lush in the soundscape. This is so very different than any other Chemical Brothers track I can think of.

Aaaaand, No Need. I have already heard this on Do It Again single. And it still kicks my ass with those road hugging sounds. I'm still thinking of first hearing this when we were driving back from Los Angeles...

Interesting... I've listened to Seal again, and I still can't put my finger on the exact vibe going on. First it sounds a hint of middle eastern, and now I'm just confused. I guess that's a good thing to not be able to peg this song. This track is really intriguing.

Juana Molina (who appears on Seal)

Old what?????

You must look like me when I was firstly listening to that incredible record! I can feel it. Seal was a bit weird from what i heard through linked mp3 snippets but know it's alright. Chilly, trippy. No Need is another bomb. Great b-side which proofs once again their skills letting sound a b-side like a full-value album track!

I really do love Harpoons. There's some Sigur Ros connection imo. It's fits perfectly as a transition. As I said before: could be a movie soundtrack.

hahaha, you never heard the term "throw me a bone" ? hehe

I knew you'd come through in rescuing me from my loneliness in this thread!! Hooray!

Seal is a weird track, very much so. But I really dig it. I have a feeling this one will be a grower too if it makes it to a b-side for another single. Hmmm. Given its quirky attributes, it might fare well as a b-side to Sammy (if indeed Sammy is 100% confirmed as the next single). I've listened to Seal twice but can't quite describe what it sounds like. I can describe the sounds going on, but I haven't reached the point where I've wrapped my head around this one.

I can't wait to listen to this album yet again. The depth of Harpoons was very much noticable on cd vs. mp3, but also with all the other songs too. I guess I pointed out Harpoons because it's been referred to as a basic transition track and at worst, filler. I even alluded to it being a transition track. Hearing it now feels more drenched in sound and substance than my ears gave credit for previously. The difference between the mp3's and the actual hard copy of the cd are world's apart in my ears. I knew this would happen, of course. I knew there would be subtleties and depth of musical textures that were barely audible on the mp3's or didn't stand out as much - so I couldn't wait to finally get the real deal. I loved the album immensely to begin with, but now... I mean really. I'm enough of a fangirl as it is but if I keep going on about how much I love this album it will really be kind of scary.

I just fuckin' love it... what can I say??

(And you know, I still feel like poo. But it feels so good to have this album!)

Finally got the album today, haven't yet listened to it yet though. Going to wait until it's dark out. And I haven't even ordered the DIA single yet... My god, what's wrong with me?

Oh man do I wish I had shrooms. Nah, just hoping my buddy will bring over my herbal medicine for my, er, glaucoma and anorexia problems. Shit..... Hmmmmm....... How fantastic would that be to listen to the album properly for the first time while shroomed? I may have to postpone my listening for a couple days. Thoughts on a postcard?

It's a shame so many people still rip to mp3 :(

MPEG-1 sucks so hard :(

darky - if it was really the first time technically, i'd say go for it - it's SOME experience hearing a piece of beautiful art on a psychedelic the first time - my first ever chems experience was on sid - i've told the story a few times.

whirly - :D
