Whirly - I usually dont read anything about a film before I watch it ever as principle so I don't have a clue about Sasha Cohen or whatever it took - just that what I saw on screen bored the fuck outta me with all the gay and my sister is a prostitute jokes(?).

This is what I wrote bout Grindhouse to some friends last night - will write more later if there's a discussion -

"Saw Grindhouse. Will post details later but liked Tarantino's fit of pure mad scientist eccentric whim in the name of a film section more than Rodriquez' zombie flick. Folks expecting a film film avoid this - this is just for fanboys. Tarantino's film is just two hardcore chapters for film students on how to do the best car chase n stunts scene without any fuckin cgi, and of course the mindblowing head on collision scene before.

Our friend Rodriquez sticks to his zombie flicks roots mostly and delivers something right out of the Dawn of the Dead era - not quite my cup of tea, but the genius quite shows through for fans of the genre (maybe) and Rodriquez. I for one have never liked him much, except for Sin City in parts, and of course the uber cool From Dusk Till Dawn."

(I am a HUGE Tarantino fanboy of course).

Seeing Spiderman 3 today evening - have no clue about it except it's been gettin canned everywhere - not been reading the reviews - will find out myself tonight.

Just saw Hot Fuzz... laughed my ass off. A must-see!!

Oh, and I saw Spiderman 3 the other day... it's not that great. I'm probably just mad because they ruined Venom, my favorite Spiderman character.

I thought the openning credits were good ! It's a good idea to remind the 2 first episodes, if you didn't see them recently, or at all

saw spiderman 3. i've sworn to myself i'm never gonna waste another buck of my hard earned money on any of this hollywood hyped cgi tripe ever again. it's just not my cup of cake. spiderman 1 was decent, 2 was tripe, 3's the pits. there's no fuckin nothing to watch - u've seen one u've seen em all, parts 4, 5, 6, everything's gonna be the same, no story, no plot, sad villains with no depth, spiderman all mush - the chap is fuckin dull, i don't blame the actor, there's no depth built into the character. the only scene i liked him in was prolly the one where he goes all fun and starts flirting with the women and dancin all over town - the finest moment of this over drab bullshit. i don't give two fucks about the comics anymore, so i don't care how loyal the films are to the fans, but at least give me SOMETHING for my money's worth. all it had was 2 or 3 fucked up same bullshit 100% cgi fights (oh yeah everyone including mary jane has bones of titanium), two or three dialogues about being good, and how important it is to make the right decisions - fuck we've had enough of this bullshit. i wish i could sue these fucks for taking everyone for such a ride. even the kids in the theatre were bawling or yawning. i don't recollect pt 2 much but i think 3 was exactly the same fuckin film, except for some different frames and some more hours in photoshop or whatever the fuck they used. yeah the black suit looked cool, but then it was just filling in black instead of red on that bloody software. fuck i'm pissed. apologies to "fans" who i've offended - i've not ready any reviews or anything on this thread - just my thoughts. they should make toby mcguire completely evil and flirt with everything and fuck everything and dance all over town to some nice music. that'd make a much more fun film. he seemed so happy for those 10 mins of the film.

Borat was the funniest film ever made.

I guess you have to live in America and despise it to really appreciate Borat.

Americans really are that stupid.

Borat was 2 hours of making fun of how stupid americans are.

Maybe you secretly realize america sucks and you're in denial.

Uhhh... some of you don't seem to realize what a sense of humor is. I can look at myself and my country and be able to laugh at it. Can you? I mean... I know a lot of you just assume Americans are ignorant, but if you think Borat is an accurate portrayal of average Americans... you're the ignorant ones! Sure, there are some wackos, but there are wackos everywhere. And I mean EVERYWHERE. They found the wackos. Simple as that.

I'm american, tard.

And I say that the idiots at the rodeo, cheering our 'War of Terror' are the norm in america, not the exception.

America is a vast wasteland of idiocy and prejudice, with thin slices of civilisation on either side.

Thanks for calling me a tard.. it shows your intelligence level! Check this out if you feel like being wrong http://www.galluppol...lt.aspx?ci=1633

But getting back to the TOPIC, lol.

Spidey 2 is on TV. I'm realizing how much better it is than the 3rd one.. Doc Ock is my favorite Spidey film villain by far.

Thanks for proving my point. In 2003, only 27% of americans thought it was a mistake to go into Iraq. Today there's still 41% who think it was a good idea.

Yep, we're truly an idiocracy.

Saw Heaven and Earth - Oliver Stone's first film. I'm still reeling - the whole movie was just headrushes - it touches u so deep, the last thirty mins my head just gave in and it was just locked in a total headrush. Was totally sober by the way.

I've always worshipped Stone as my all time fav director, but lost hope in him since Any Given Sunday and his last two clunkers, and somehow this film had always eluded me, but finally saw it, and it blew me away. It's not an NBK, but it touched me deep fucking inside, every min of it - BEAUTIFUL. This is the reason I worshipped him. Easily his second best film (I'm a total NBK fanboy to admit anything else being better).

Got Wongkarwai's 2046 linedup for later tonight if I come back sober enough - going out drinking!

I just finished watching City of God (my third time watching it)...Beautiful cinematography and very creative technically, considering that it was somewhat a low budget movie...This movie has some strong scenes, but it's the reality of Brazil...Believe or not, it kind of makes me miss the violence in Brazil (I was born and raised there)...This is a bad-ass gangster movie...By the way, City of God is a name of a slum in Rio, which the movie takes place in...

I also watched korean movie called Old Boy the other day when they were showing it on campus. I thought it was pretty original and authentique. If you like Tarantino movies, give this one a shot. It's bizarre, invigorating, brutal, darkly funny, type of thriller.

Hi soulpunx, welcome aboard. :) I'm hesitant to watch 28 Weeks Later only because I loved 28 Days Later so much - and wasn't sure how a sequel would pan out. But I will likely give it a shot, but when it comes on DVD.

igloo - agreed about City Of God. I thought about that movie for days after I watched it. It was an excellent movie, very poignant, gritty, real - the desperate landscape of hopelessness made me feel so helpless when I watched it.

Old Boy was really good too (but it... weirded me out - I'm sure you know what I'm talking about!)
