"Oh shit, It's crazy! I'm trying to buy the album but it's not possible for me!

It's not available in the iTunes Italian music store, and it's impossible to try to buy from the USA Store or from Amazon. I tryed every possible way without success..."

Same for me...

It will be by illegal way for me...

Fuck

ah, here comes the ol "I can't give my hands on it immediately, so I have a god-given right to steal it" rants... even if you do that, you ought to at least purchase a physical copy as homage while you have the stolen copy in the mean time... unless you don't have jobs and are just trying to find excuses not to spend money.

plus it's a great soundtrack, not like you're spending $15.99 on the Tomb Raider soundtrack or something... :P

You think what you want Biff.

I'm just against the principles of major.

I don't speak english well enough to explain it.

PS : The Tomb Raider Soundtrack isn't badder than the Heroes Soundtrack, she's different... And I bought it to have the exclusive mix of "galaxy bounce". Yes, i was able to buy it...

In fact, who are you to give lessons and speak like that ? (you look like just a bit pretentious).

yeah, I'm pretentious all the time here, I'm sure of that. However, what I am saying here is that, every time there is a digital release, dating back to the Live 05 release, a bunch of people complain about the digital release or other such issues and it always runs down to people feeling that it is therefore just to not pay for it. That is what I am complaining about. That same rhetoric, after nearly 3 years is getting a bit old. I am not intending to single any individuals out. Only to say I think many, including myself, find it tasteless to talk about not paying for Chemical Brothers music on a Chemical Brothers forum.

If you wanted my opinion (probably not), they should sell the tracks individually on itunes, but they are well aware that a small number of people would actually buy the soundtrack, while all the Dylan, Wilco, and Chemical fans would go on their and solely purchase.

Damn, that was hard. I waited to buy the physical copy today, rather then get the digital copy last night. Totally worth it. A banggARRR!!!

This track could be HUGE hit on the Radio in my the US if it was marketed properly, me thinks.

P.S. Big Ups to ERROL!!!! nice to see your name in the credits buddy!!! (on the very first line, might i add)

@ Biff : I agry with you, but I'm hungry because the chems are on a major, and in every time there is a record, those stupid history of marketing or capitalism are here : we must by all the single/vinyl/mp3 to have the B-sides, mp3 only advailable on itunes (why not beatport, bleep or another ?) or some continent etc etc...

I compaign for the chems on Warp, DFA, Infiné or another independant label.

Biff, I'm saying that it is ridiculous that an album is released (digitally) only in USA. For me it should cost 6 Euros the whole album, when usually a physical album costs 17-20 Euros in Italy, so it's not a problem of money.

I just damn want to have that track, and as a Chemical Brothers fan you should understand me. So I just have to choose the only possible way to get it.

yeah, I'm just glad that this particular soundtrack comes with other bands I already listen to (so I'm supporting Dylan/Wilco/Jesus&Mary who I'm sure need money for buying modular synthesizer too). On a positive note: if this is like the case of Galaxy Bounce on the Tomb Raider soundtrack, then maybe Keep My Composure will end up on a chems record as the b-side to a single, ep, or compilation.

Yes probably, but I'm in the same state of mind of pnx, i want this track !

I'm thinking about major's dirigeants who are saying "people buy album ! please, we need money, if not money, not artist !".

yes OK, i agree, but where can I buy this track ? where ? why american can buy it and not me ?

Behind the CD holder there is a little summary of why they decided to make a Heroes soundtrack, and where it came from. I'm skipping a little bit to get to Errol and The Chems part...

"On our office stereos or in the location van, you would definitely hear Iggy, Death Cab for Cutie, My Morning Jacket and Wilco. As music buffs, it's important that we be open to new stuff too. That's where Music Producer extraordinaire Errol Kolosine enters the story. He took control of our amorphous project and gave it shape. He's a man of taste and experience with lots of kool kredits (yeah that's right, look him up too.) He listened to our fanboy rambling and then our minds by bringing us songs by artists we love but hadn't considered, like the Chemical Bros., Nada Surf, Imogen Heap, and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Best of All, he turned us on to new stuff like Brighton Port Authority and Yerba Buena, whose improv on "Maya Healing Song" is a CD Highlight because our composers were excited to see their work reinterpreted."

yeah, I recall Errol talking about Nada Surf being on Heroes ages ago and him being excited for that one.

For the American only situation on the album, the only things I can think of to purpose is: 1. someone from a non US and UK perspective whose gotten the album share their method. I know I have been able to get stuff from the iTunes UK store before 2. The album is not too expensive and I'm sure it'd be easy to buy a copy online for cheap, even if it is import. 3. It seems like iTunes and other digital companies will make tracks "album only" but will sell them individually after a week or two will allow you to buy the tracks individually. Such is the case with Silver Drizzle, which now you can buy individually. I sure as hell didn't mind spending $9.99 to hear what song Tom & Ed "found behind the sofa."

I doubt any of these solutions will help you (chemicalmat), but hopefully someone will find a solution.

I bought the whole album because I wanted to see what these other artists were like. Other than the chems' song, I like that Brighton Port Authority song and the New Pornographers song (But I already like the New Pornographers)

Hello fellow forumners - its the aforementioned Errol - ill address your questions:

1) The soundtrack, of which I am very proud thank you very much, is available in North America on all digital providers as of today. The physical version is a Best Buy exclusive for a few weeks and then that'll be available everywhere too, although it's on sale cheap at Best Buy.

2) The international version will be up on all digital providers almost immediately - pls stand by for an announcement on that.

3) The series is behind a bit overseas compared to here in the states so ducks in row and all that...

4) Yes, it is album only. But its over an hour of music - including stuff like the first new Jesus and Mary Chain song in a decade, the amazing Chems track, BPA, and many more unavailable anywhere else.

Sometime if I feel like it I will elaborate on the ins and outs of bundled vs unbundled (its more complicated than you think), but I will say every effort was made to make this a great ALBUM and a great mix - not just a cobbling together of songs.

That's it - for now keep your composure....

love

errol xo

...and there's your answer.

I was able to listen to it today and enjoyed it. Particularly the Dylan track, which should be no surprise.

If any of you people who are not state side, want the physical copy of the album. I'm willing to go my local Best Buy and pick you guys up a copy and send it through the mail. Just gotta pay me through paypal for the expenses (including postage).

P.S. The new Jesus and Mary Chain is sweet. Didnt realize this is their first release in over a decade. They put on a pretty good show at Coachella last year.

I'm gonna go buy me a hard copy of this album, likely sometime this week. Been a tough week and it's only Tuesday, need some retail therapy + tuneage. iTunes, though convenient, simply will not do.

Errol you did well on this soundtrack and you taking the time to come here and speak your piece shows you take pride in what you do. All too often, soundtracks are a hodgepodge of songs that just don't fit together, or aren't streamlined to take a person through moods and journies. Please come back when you do have the time and energy and set the record straight on this bundling/non-bundling biz.

And I understand the frustration people have expressed, but pretty much agree with Biff all along the way.
