Pink Floyd was absolutely AMAZING! Jaw droppingly stunning, it was damn near perfect as damn near perfect can be. The tightness of the band and how crisp and clear and together they had it up there on stage, the lazers and visuals, the incredible sound, the tripped out crowd, the giant disco ball that unfolded into a glittering flower near the show's close... I feel blessed to have witnessed such a gig. The whole thing was - from getting my ticket at the last minute right up to the very very end - an incredible experience and one that I will never forget.

Another great show I went to was the farewell gig for Oingo Boingo. There was so much going on up there on stage, there were so many people all playing an assortment of eclectic instruments. The crowd was fun! The show was on Halloween, so everyone was dressed up - a good portion of the crowd were dressed like the characters of Nightmare Before Christmas which was impressive because you could tell a lot of these people put so much effort into it. Good times!

Coldcut - Definitely a great live act
Amon Tobin (Live Set) - This live set was really surnatural... It gives me thrills each time I re-listen to this :

Amon Tobin (DJ Set) - Amon does very good Hip Hop/D'n'Bass sets.
U2 - fucking mindblowing but maybe a little "too much"

Hey Ben_j, I've been meaning to chat with you about the U2 show you went to. It's good to see it on your list. I have a question (and by no means is this meant to be criticism toward you, but more toward the band) but I'm interested to know what parts of the show you thought were a little "too much".

screaming trees - reading alleycat - 1997 - dust tour, they were playing 10,000 people arenas in the states at the time, and they come to the uk and the last date on their tour was this pokey little 200 capacity club ib reading. was squashed right on the barrier at the front, mark lanegan literally 3 feet away (the 'stage' is only 2 foot high) was fucking incredible, the passion and the musicianship and the vibe was reeeeeally fucking intense. 2 weeks later they split up, so this was one of their last ever shows. great gig.
the earlies- queen elizabeth hall 2005 - strange gig at a proper sit down theatre. was a lush way to enjoy their music, very emotional and uplifting. i nearly cried when we left! me and my housemate charlie were a bit speechless hahaha
theres chems ones too, but if i bore anyone else with the 'glasto 2000 gig changed my life' story i might have to find a new forum ;)

Aw come on, you make it sound like I saw some crap tribute band. :P For me to have actually seen the full on Pink Floyd... unless there's a resurrection as well as reunion of sorts, I was just a decade (and then some) too late... I'm not *that* old!!
