Shuffle's top chav gadget
By JONATHAN WEINBERG
THE iPod Shuffle has been crowned the UK's chaviest gadget.
Apple's bargain-basement MP3 player was given the award by gizmo websites www.techdigest.tv and www.shinyshiny.tv after judges labelled it "cheap".
Technology expert Ashley Norris, who runs the site, said: "The shuffle is perfect for chavs.
"It?s cheap, it?s by a cool brand, and you can let others know you have one as it is designed to be worn round your neck.
"And as it is white, it also accessorises well with those classy gold chains Chavs wear."
He added: "The sad part is that the Shuffle is the worst player in the Apple range ? more like some dodgy back street knock-off than the excellent other iPods.
"The fact it has no screen so you can?t program it or choose a track ? it chooses the music for you ? also saves Chav brain cells for the much more important business of, ahem, 'pimping their rides'."
Motorola's sleek RAZR mobile was named runner-up in the Must Chav category and Mr Norris added: "Once the height of cool, this has now become standard fixture for every Tom Dick and Chav.
"Motorola has even now done one in pink, maybe they should be thinking of a Burberry version."
It wasn't all bad news for Apple, its Nano music player won the Shiny Shiny Icon award while a 20,000 gold-plated case for Sony's PSP took the gong for Most Bling Gadget.
Best Mobile Phone went to the Samsung SGH-D600 and the Sky Gnome, which lets you listen to your Sky TV anywhere in the house, grabbed Best Gadget Accessory.
