Ola my little cherry pumpkins,

Its time for more flagrant self promotion i'm afraid.

Baby Charles album is out now. It got 4 stars in Mojo and is creating quite a buzz.

In the other thread it got asked if there was a North American Release. Here's the answer direct from the label:

'Yes it will be available in US distributed by Groove distribution'

You can also order through Amazon here:

http://www.amazon.co...06528903&sr=8-1 (US Orders)

http://www.amazon.co...6529791&sr=8-13 (UK Orders)

It's also available through Itunes (the UK iTunes at least)

You can hear more at:

www.babycharles.co.uk

www.myspace.com/babycharlesband

Their show on Craig Charles went really well (check their website to hear it, and all of their radio sessons - its in the 'press and media' tab at the top - and the shout out to a proudcer you might know ;)) and it looks like Giles Peterson will be playing that set on Radio 1. They are also on Mark Lamars show this friday night on Radio 2.

The launch party is April 4th at Pigalle in Piccadilly, featuring a live set by Baby Charles themselves and also a DJ set by Andy Smith of Portishead fame.

I know I'm obviously biased (what with being the producer and all) but this album really is a great slab of dirty rotten funkness, with crashing breaks, blaring horns and Dionne's voice, which is frankly amazing.

So do yourselves a favour and tuck in!!

Cheers

Mips (The Ghost Trannys)

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

You've got to love the Forum love...

And, Tom, should you happen to read this, I was listening to the insane performance of The Sunshine Underground you and Ed gave to Fuji Rocks in 2002 while taking my lunch today on the Embarcadero, and it was liberating. Thanks once again for some of the most amazing moments I've ever experienced, and I can't wait for Olympia. :)

And Mipps, I meant to tell you, I'm going to schedule my plane flight a day earlier so that somehow Alexis and I can work out seeing you and Chebs behind the decks!

will gladly buy this one soon, Mippio.

Thoroughly enjoyed the cover of "I bet you look good on the dance floor". I believe I mentioned this before, but I think it's better then the original.

lol @ Emotronic in the myspace. Good to see that genre is still around :P

I've had a listen to them on their myspace page and it's good stuff. I would definitely buzz off seeing them perform live however I don't think I would particularly listen to a full cd of it. They would be awesome as warm up for the roots who other than the chemical brothers are the best live act I've seen.

On their myspace page I have noticed in their top friends they are mates with DJ Format has he any sort of connection to the band?

I need some more funk in my life to counter the bad tidings of the state of the U.S. economy. This will do the trick, indeed. Love the funk.

Bought me this album 2 days ago in London and listening to it. Man, my world is funky right now. Absolutely loving it. Some ace drums there, and she's got a neat voice! Was a little expensive (you should have seen the vendor's eyes ) but worth every penny though.

Yup. Really digging this. It has such a nice float. Well, it was 18 bucks, which is kinda expensive, at least I was told by the vendor there. And if I recall it correct it was the only copy in the whole store - so you could say I bought them all, hehe.

But as I said, mate, I don't regret it at all.

Btw, they could do a bunch of live gigs over here. I'd definately go.
