I did this at the suggestion of Ben_j, so you should thank him...

I spend about half an hour trawling the boards and YouTube for all the songs they've been trying out live (and will likely appear on the new album) and put it all neatly together in a list for your convenience! Hope you like it:

“After Sunglasses”:

http://www.youtube.c...va5VexY#t=3m02s

If you’ll excuse the lack of neutrality for a moment, this is my personal favorite. Its name comes from its position in the Coachella setlist (right after “Sunglasses At Night” by Tiga & Zyntherius) and it raves mercilessly. Features some indecipherable vocals (one brief segment sounds kind of like Q-Tip rapping) and transitions into a different song before the end.

“After After Sunglasses”/”Proxyon”:

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=R0QBH9VCVQA

A throbbing electro track; immediately follows “After Sunglasses” at Coachella. On the accompanying bootleg it was accidentally merged with “After Sunglasses” so they were on the same track; as such it has not gotten much attention.

“Last Track”/”Watch The Skies”:

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=MhUxdcKb_C0

The former name comes from its position on the Coachella setlist, the latter from a Twitter post the Chems made. Has drawn comparisons by fans to The Private Psychedelic Reel for its length and The Sunshine Underground for its style. As you would suspect from this it is one of their more highly-anticipated “new tracks”.

(Also, I would like to note the similarities between one of the main synth lines and the famous one from “Baba O’Riley” by The Who:

http://www.youtube.c...?v=hKUBTX9kKEo)

“Crazy Cowbell Track”:

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=67xKu3N5yb4

Never was a song so aptly-named. A track the Brothers started playing in their Italian DJ sets that has trickled down to us through some bass-heavy videos. Fan comparison has leaned towards the title track of “Dig Your Own Hole”, although I consider it much darker.

“Remember To Fall In Love”:

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=NwwJn-X_l6Y

Thanks to a pair of posts on Twitter reciting the known lyrics, this is the only track that is pretty much 100% certain to be on Chem7, perhaps even a single. A very “warm” track with an unknown vocalist. The drums drop in about halfway through the video above.

“Warm Vibe”:

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=HRn3keZrT10

This one’s pretty vague. That’s the only known clip of the song and it’s kind of distorted. Though it may not actually be a new Chems track, it bears no resemblance to any known song they’ve been playing as of late.

And two tracks that have lain dormant for a while but have aroused fan expectations as of late considering the apparent “sound” of Chem7:

“Live Intro Track”:

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=KisMQiaDUTk

A smooth, mellow track that the Brothers used to open up their Brixton set in 2005. Hasn’t really shown up anywhere since, but there have been recent signs that it may have been dusted off and revised for the new album (let’s cross our fingers!).

“Animal Track”/”Problem-Question”:

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=7LSdLc_Y9iA

The holy grail of unreleased Chems material, this song was toured around live during some shows in December of 2008. It was supposedly going to be Electronic Battle Weapon 8, but was allegedly shelved by the Brothers due to a problem with the bassline. Speculation about this one has abounded for years so I suppose it’s inevitable that it would come up on a list of potential new-album material, but hey, it’s possible. Let’s hope the Brothers worked it out with this one!

...Well, there you have it. You are now officially up-to-speed on all potential candidates for Chem7. This thread will be historically significant after it comes out!

*3 Years Later*

“Hey... a speculation thread about [Chem7 Album Title]! Let’s look around to see how wrong they were.”

*looks*

“They thought ‘After Sunglasses’ raved mercilessly? Weird...”

This is cool. As excited as I am for a new album, i'm resisting listening to anything new until I have the cd. YEA i'm gonna hold out for high quality!

prochem has the right idea XD

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

thx for the work!!!

didn't know, that they dropped problems/questions during the WATN tour, as you have mentioned (december 2008; wasn't their last concert in august 2008 olympia?)

anyway, will kill for "after after sunglasses/proxyon". i also think that remember to fall in love will be on chem7. same for "last track".

for the other tracks i can't say anything. for animal track: hope they will release it as some kind of a fan bonus track/download, don't think they will release it on the new album because they have so much output that they don't throw "old" tracks on a new album.

"Dig Your Own Hole Mix 2"

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=jPn8YHdhYYY

I hear a lot of similarities between the track Dig Your Own Hole and this, hence the title. I can't really tell if it's just a live mix of Dig or if it's actual new Chemical material.

Also;

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=BdZwJmB27PI

This video has a lot more footage of Remember To Fall In Love, and two minutes in there's the Hey Boy Hey Girl Breakbeat Mix.

PS: The above video edits out parts of RTFIL, I'm going to see if the guy who uploaded that video can upload the entire footage of RTFIL, if he has it. Hopefully he can read english.

And to top it off:

This lets you download any youtube video to your computer as mp3.

"Animal Track/ "Problem-Question"

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=w0zrp5JhyAU

This is the newer version that I've been salivating over for years. Apparently Fake Blood somehow got a copy on vinyl (bastard... hehe, jk)

EDIT:

I think "Last Track/Watch the Skies" sounds a bit like the synth at the start of "Fly Like an Eagle"

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=UwJGN-T4kaM

Anyone else hear the similarity?

Yes, I do ! Good point Profunk !

Btw, Problem/Question was played live during december 2005, not 2008 (mistyping probably).

And what you call "Hey Boy Hey Girl breakbeat mix" is actually that : http://www.youtube.c...h?v=wLNNzgzHYkE

Waiting for the new album, to really try and listen to the new stuff. Tom's mix he posted a while ago, is something I listen to quite often.

Maboul59, I think you need a copy of the Anti-Nazi Mix!

great report on the new Chem 7 tracks. After and afterafter sunglasses didn't strike to me as Chemical tracks. Would like to hear better recordings of it.

Problems ain't gonna happen on Chem 7. Indeed Tom spoke of having trouble with the bassline. If I hear the summercase recording I like the bassline fine. I heard Justin Robertson spin it Turnmills. Love it, it will probably (hopefully) appear on the next '03 - '13 compilation :)

@Maboul59

A big time thank you! I finally know what the HBHG Remix came from. Didn't know it was Another Place Another Time track. So if I was to create the same remix, I would need all three tunes. I would prefer the Chems version of though.

@Champiness

Good reporting on your part....A+ (with links as well)

Now that's doing your homework!
