Anyway, back to the topic at hand...

This is so sad that these events in London have put everyone on edge and caused this trigger happy madness. I can understand why this happened but it really is tragic. I honestly hope no more mistakes like this are made, and hope what happened doesn't set a precedent.

its reallt disturbing - im going clubbing on friday to fabric and i dont really fancy getting the tube - i know its silly and irrational and ive got a greater chance of being hit by a car than a bomb, but it just feels a bit edgy at the moment.
apparently the geezer they shot dead in stockwell wasnt linked any of the bomb attacks in the end, he was just a suspect. sooo dodgy, and thats what i mean about evrything being on edge - the slighgtest thing and everyone kicks off.

it is worrying - we havent had this sort of shit in the uk befoire and i dont particularly want it happening now :?
apparebntlky trhey were special branch as well, not your usual plod. makes u wonder what he did to make them react like they did. if they shouted at him to stop and he kept running he was the dumbest mo fo in the history of the universe.

mippio, you're going to have a great time at Fabric!
I completely empathize with your reservations about getting on the tube. It would be hard to not let the events that happened be in the back of your mind. But you have nothing to fear but fear itself. Yeah, I know, easier said than done. So many people here in the States were afraid after 9-11, people were and still are afraid of travelling, people were afraid of Muslims, but you know, life's gotta keep on going, and you'll be fine.
I found an interesting site, lots of images of support from all over the world: http://www.werenotafraid.com/

Its very sad what happened to the Brazillian guy, I really feel sorry for his friends and family. People are blaiming the police for happening, but really the terrorists are the ones that have caused this, if they hadnt of attcked London there would be no need for trigger happy police. I just hope next time they do get the bad guys.
It upsets me that there trying to fuck up are world and what we stand for. Whats the point in bombing the tubes esspecially around and on G8. Im also fearfull for my dad who works near Downing street, he watched the arrest of the man there the other day from his office, but we really must not live in fear and have got to carry on our every days lives otherwise they will win.

yeh, i can see what your saying, but you can take that arguement further back along the timeline as well . . . . if we hadnt invaded iraq we wouldnt be as legitimate a target for a jihad... . if israel wasnt created then there would be less tensions in the middle east .... if the arabs hadnt tried to conquer the north end of africa we wouldnt have had the crusades etc etc... u cant apportion blame as simply as that.
at the end of the day we need to be able to trust the police to do their jobs properly. im sure that the policeman geezer who went to work (and lets not forget he is just a bloke doing a job) didnt want to kill anyone, so he must have felt that it was a life or death situation. the fact that it turns out it wasnt is just really really tragic, and very sad. imagine if he had of been a bomber and he didnt shoot and he got to set of his bomb - despite my leftie leanings i do feel sorry for the police - dammned if u do and dammned if u dont. hopefully lessons will be learnt this time round in any event.
