Thanks Martin & Mitziwinkles - I think I'll be in a Chemical Brothers YouTube loop most of the evening now. I'm 40 years old but you're never too old to discover something this good. :-D

Damn right your never too old! I used to be reet' into my Hard house back in the day, and became good friends with a 60 year old raver, used to call him whenever we were off somewhere and he'd come along for the trip, an amazing guy & a bit of a legend in my eyes!

god damn i missed the beginning because of some fucks holding me up.. can't believe i missed tomorrow never knows! consequently couldn't enjoy it as much for the first half an hour or so but things went right off after It Doesn't Matter, love those visuals! from then on amazing but bit disappointed in the standard setlist, encore however was probably the best i've ever seen, chemical beats never fails to be less than incredible. chemical_si were you by the guys with the amazing face paint that seemed like an exact replica of acidclown? really made me smile!

part 2: the end. oh my lord. i've never witnessed such a thing. for the first hour or so i couldn't move because i was completely transfixed by the sight of a room full of oldies going completely nuts to the best music i've ever heard at half 12 in the morning. needless to say things got increasingly messy throughout the night, astounding, absolutely incredible. did anyone else manage to get down? sorry to hear you didnt get in chemical_si.. did you manage to catch M.A.N.D.Y and Swayzak though? any Sasha reports?

Yeah it really was special whirly, shame you couldnt of been there.

I was standing slap bang in the middle half way betweem stage and desk, we then moved further back. decided not to go to the front so that we could get the full affect of the visuals!

I was at the front for most of the night, think i would of had a better time further back because i would have been able to dance more freely. For most of the night two people at the very front were moaning at everyone behind them! I still dont understand why people go to the front and then moan and get aggressive when people are dancing. Anyways back to my main point, i was wondering where you lot think the best spot on a dance would be for a chemical bros gig?

By the way the visualisation for come with us, is that new because i dont remember seeing it before (the dotted face)

I always feel towards the back at the middle (Although saying this, I was close to the front (at the right) for a majority of last night, My ears are still ringing now. But the visuals always seem to have more effect if your a little bit away from them, and straight down the middle so you get the view of the full screen (for me anyway!)

@Acidchildren

Thanks for the great review! Always a good tease on HBHG!

@Mitzitwinkles

Never an age limit on chem fans. I'll still be at a show till 50!

@Chemical_Si

You probably had higher expectations for the show. But next year...The Bros will be back...and harder...better...faster...stronger!

@Bel

Chem shows are a fountain of youth for me!

Welcome to the Brotherhood!

@3hree6ix5ive

'room full of oldies going completely nuts'

The sounds of the Bros move in mysterious ways.

Thanks to all who contributed about this awesome show!

Ayaz - We contemplated it but ended up going for a wander, and taking random photos followed by finding our hotel again (Im sure it moved while we were at the gig! lol, took ages to find and it was originally only 3 mins away!) I always get confused when i visit London, I'm only familiar with the central bits because the only time i really see london is after dark, when were heading to a club.

The tubes scare me!

Do you live in London?

One word...immense.

Venue was awesome, massive place, like a gig in an aircraft hanger! Went in with Acid, Mike (chemicalfan) and mate and we were like "fucking hell".

Awesome gig, was a little disappointed with the Manchester gig back in December (although most of that wasn't Tom and Eds fault) but this one made up for it. The visuals were brilliant, huge (I suppose they were always gonna be in such a big venue) and worked really well.

Good setlist for me, only thing missing for me was Das Spiegel which was superbly pulled off in Manchester a la Tom playing the 'harmonica' (keyboard type thing which you blow into one end, the name excapes me right now lol). But replaced with a brilliant version of The Pills Won't Help You Now which worked really well live, nice breaks version as Acid mentioned. The ending to the show was a real epic Sunshine Underground, must have been around 10 mins but a joy to behold.

Other highlights for me were:

The return of Surrender to the Void - In a gig of this magnitude I don't think they could've got away with any other intro! A welcome return for me.

Midnight Madness - have to confess have only listened to this once and was when I caught most of the video on C4 a few Fridays ago after coming home from the pub (and that was only cos a mate texted me lol). Haven't bothered to download the radio edit. But anyway thought this was great live, looking forward to listening properly tomorrow!

Believe - Have to disagree Acid, the buildup half way through was epic, whipping the crowd up into a frenzy.

The Pills - as described above.

The Golden Path - Still love the live version of this.

Leave Home/Chemical Beats - awesome as ever. CB went down very well with the crowd.

I'm still in London (although spent in the afternoon in Bath which made me not want to come back here lol) so will post pics when I get home!

@Acid: Shame I lost you guys (I think at some point during the encore?) but pleased you enjoyed it! Was a very special gig. And yeah you definitely picked the right place to see the visuals!

Ayaz - Closed?! No friggin' way! thats like something that would happen to me! When we initally got to Olympia (very hot and tired) at about 1.30pm, We spent 2 hours (i kid you not!) looking for our hotel, we printed maps for everything bar between the tube and our hotel. Some security guard at the grand hall guided us, and we kept asking others as we got onto new roads, only to find out by some kind old lady that we'd gone exactly the wrong way - this was after 2 hours wandering round, and we found out that our hotel was at the right, to the back of the Grand hall. we could of literally popped off the tube and been there in 5 minutes. That made me a sad panda. Although all the misdirection was worth it. Some friends of ours who we couldn't actually find in the venue drove and didn't get there till 10pm ish, fools.

Your lucky living round there - where the magic happens... so to speak! I love London but i think i need a tour guide next time i'm there, some annoying person waving a flag making sure the tour group all stays together. I always get lost.
