holla, does anyone have this? its some promo CD the chems released just after DYOH, its called:

Chemical Brothers - Beats (possibly the worst title in the history of everything)

its just a live set from the DYOH era, but it has some tracks that i dont believe i have seen recorded or on the FTP. the opening track is an amalgamation of breaking up, prescription beats and Loops of Fury,

its pretty freakin cool, i have never heard all these three together in a set before (apart from loops of fury in the osaka 97 set) but then there are tracks like electroband and piku and shit, obviously we have heard them live as well, but i think there are some other older traccks that are played differently to how most sets have them.

if Tom and Ed dont have a Problem with it, ill get it off my mate and slap it up on th FTP, its all recorded full quality really nice.

i cant find a link of the tracklisting anywhere, and dont have the CD on me. sorry

Oh no sorry forget that - that also had IDM in it.

Mustve been from around the same time tho. It was a wicked live set that ive had ages ago but ive lost it. It was very beaty - it had Piku and IDM and Prescription and all those mad beats tunes. It was very different from what they do now actually - it was total madness ! Wich was wicked 8)

I think I heard this set once... If it's the one I'm talking about, it must be from 1996 or 1997. Don't remember where it was recorded though... I remember it as being very different, one of the best mixes I've heard by them, the intro pretty much insane. Wicked!

It's a live recording of a gig at Brixton 26 october 1996

tracklisting:

1. Intro/Loops of fury/(the best part of) Breaking up

2. Block rockin' beats/Leave home

3. Song to the siren/3 little birdies down beats

4. Don't stop the rock/Elektrobank

5. Piku

6. Dig your own hole

7. Setting Sun

8. Chemical beats

Best Noise: The flipover from Block Rockin' beats to Leave home. Very cool transition.

As Slipvin said, I see this cd a lot at cd/vinyl exchange/conventions here in Holland (Utrecht, Jaarbeurs zeker). Good live set, good quality.

I've got one that's dated 28th Oct 96 that is fucking excellent. Probably the same recording, but here's what I hear:

1. Intro/Wicked unknown track/Loops of fury/(the best part of) Breaking up

2. Terminal Tower

3. Block rockin' beats/Leave home

4. Song to the siren/3 little birdies down beats

5. It doesn't matter vocal stutter/Don't stop the rock/Elektrobank

6. Piku

7. Dig your own hole

8. Setting Sun

9. Chemical beats

These tracks are those the tracklisting on the cover or are those the titles you gave to it? I think it's the same one I've got.

That wicked track after the intro is Dust up beats. This can also be found on the (I think) first pressing of my mercury mouth and it's in the PS Wipe-out 2097 (or XL) game.

Indeed Perscription beats is in there. If it's listed on your cd as Terminal Tower I suspect you have an Italian bootleg. Also in this mix are little bits of Voodoo people remix and Open Up remix.

Dust-up-beats is amazing - I'm really disappointed it never made it onto Exit Planet Dust, or even the bonus disc of Singles. Absolutely amazing track, I love it

2 versions of dust up beats, one is the one on the my mercury mouth ep which is quite electronic and sexy

other is the my mercury mouth promo (I think promo??????) and it has this massive build up with the funkiest bass licks and some nice vocal samples
