I am actually amazed at how fast the tickets are selling this tme around. Every year I went, it didn't sell to capacity. I even lined up outside to get my tix in 1999 and 2001 thinking "it's gonna be so massive it'll surely sell out in 10 minutes!!" I was so wrong! The first year I went in 1999, it wasn't near capacity, especially on the Saturday (Sunday drew a larger crowd) and people wondered if Goldenvoice might have lost money taking on something so huge. With each year, it seems to gain a bigger draw which is good in some ways, bad in others. There's nothing worse than scrounding up for something only to find out you're 2 cents too short, and 2 seconds too late.

Glad to hear you got your tix, Bosco. Better to plan ahead and better safe than sorry.

I will not be making it out to the fest this year, but I still would love to meet up with you and irish fan and whoever might be pooling together for this. Maybe on a Saturday night after the show, stash and I can come knockin on your hotel room door. We can bring booze, and party like rock stars!!
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

That would be super cool if we could meet up on that Saturday night! I might just get out Coachella earlier on Saturday night if it ends up being Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tiesto closing the night .

That is the best news you could possibly have! That means you're going to get rid of all the trance-pansies and have a packed Sahara Tent full of nutters for whoever closes out the night. And, given who else is on the Saturday lineup dance-wise, I think they'll be looking to make a big addition. I can't see Justice, LCD Soundsystem or MSTRKRFT headlining the tent, regardless of how good any of those three would be.

True.

Plus, according to the chemicalbrothers myspace, they are gonna announce new tour dates next week!

The more I look at the lineup for all three days, I just want to cry at not being able to come. So many bands I want to see. So many up-and-comers who are going to have their moment in the sun (literally). I think most of the main stage acts will be weak, but the Mojave Tent and the Sahara are going to be freeking pumping all weekend. Seriously, stake out the tents like your life depends on it once you've got a good water supply and a cup to pee in.

When's the V Festival? (And to be honest, Toronto's a lot closer to you than it is to me. But if you were heading out there and the lineup was good and I had some spare cash I'd give it consideration.)

I'm back in school then, but depending on who's on the lineup I'd consider missing the first week of class.... Hopefully Branson makes it interesting.

Wow. That's amazing. I feel very lucky things worked out as they did in 2005 for me. It was nearly a last-minute decision. I think I made my arrangements about 3 weeks before the festival.

Recommendations for San Franciso:

When the time gets closer, check out who's spinning/playing at Ruby Skye, The Mezanine, and Club 1015.

Other than that, eat at Restaurant LuLu.

::cheers::
