OK I think you are confused because the chems say they never play live on/for TV (although they did do mtv euro music awards but that was like a mini gig!). I think you might be confused with basement jaxx, these guys do have black singers as you asked earlier and they also do TV shows ('recently' in usa). Of course there could be another band you are talking about. Was it recent? If there was one guy on guitar and another one in the background behind pc/synth etc. and female vocalists here and there then it sounds like the jaxx.
