wow, i like SMD's stage set up. they're not hiding themselves behind big machines or something else. nice solution for playing live in a club.

Simian Mobile Disco - Extra Temporary

Cool, I never heard Belvedere before ! They could have added Aspic and Parachute to that though.

I'll have to check out Belvedere...

I'm not surprised Aspic isn't on there. It seemed, for some reason, very SMD-next-albumish...

No, their Delicacies thing is 100% instrumental and sounds more like experimentations and improvisations on their gear.

I can't wait to give this a very-stoned-listen over winter break.

Having heard the first 4 tracks, this seems to demand a close listen in order to get something out of the music, with the exception of Aspic. There are subtle intricacies and minimalist aspects that I both like and dislike about the majority of the other three tracks. Nerve Salad is okay, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere amazing, but then again if they simply repeated the builds that the so amazingly create in their music it would get pretty boring because you'd know what to expect.

What excites me most is the fact that they chose to include a Mixed album alongside an unmixed album. Really, really looking forward to giving that a listen above all. This gives me hope that SMD is taking a step forward...

Anyone give the new album a listen yet?

Hatarl and Ortolan are pretty interesting/cool tracks, the former being really intense in that awesome SMD way. Can't wait to hear that one live!!!

A bit too minimal for me. They don't really need to make these tracks last 9mn. Great breaks and buildups though, as usual. Hatarl, Aspic and Sweetbread are the best of the album.

I agree with the minimalism in the album not being a strong trait, but I'm not a fan of minimalism in general. However, the 2nd disc mix is GREAT. Loves it. It flows together very nicely and the minimalist tracks layer together very nicely in parts, with the "highlight" tracks standing out.

Listening to Hakarl right now. FUCK. Great track.

Gossip singer Beth Ditto is releasing a solo EP produced by Simian Mobile Disco in January.

The frontwoman first teamed up with the British dance pair on the song 'Cruel Intentions' for their 2009 album 'Temporary Pleasure', and has headed into the studio with them once more.

The as-yet untitled EP will feature four new songs and will be released on 12-inch vinyl and as a download next month. A specific release date hasn't been confirmed yet.
