That's a bummer. I bet you a dollar it was Disney's doing pulling the video off Vimeo...

Heard the soundtrack once today in my car and really liked what I heard - very cinematic, very epicy, can't wait to see the film tomorrow.

Tron: Legacy was pretty good. It wasn't great, and it wasn't bad. It was pretty.

Just saw it. I enjoyed it. Very fluorescent. The music really fit the movie well, but if I was a massive Daft Punk fan and had been waiting all this time for this, I'd be majorly disappointed. There were 2 OK tracks that would stand on their own. And we heard about 20 seconds of each in the movie.

I give it 3.5 out of 5 fluoro stars.

P.S. Olivia Wilde is freakin HOT!
Further Remixed There's nothing else...

I concur - love the 1920s-esque hairdoo. Oh, and the tight nano-whatever suit

I think I won't watch the movie. First because it won't be in theaters before the month of february here, second because...well I haven't watch the first one, and I'm not interested in seeing any of the movies, third because the OST was the only thing that interested me and I do have it now, so why should I care ?

Maybe I'll download it when it's reeleased on DVD. Maybe.

I finally watched the movie, it was pretty decent except for the fact that the sequel was a 2 decade gap between the first one, making it a little confusing for some to fully understand the movie less save for the adults. I liked how daft punk continued to play music as they were killing each other, especially playing music matching the conflict!

Ist half of the movie was OK! After that I took the 3D glasses off!!! The SDTK did fit well with some of the films moments!

Hopefully a directors cut will be available soon on DVD/BluRay!

I went to see Tr2n last night, and I loved it :D It was like a really cool screensaver. I didn't love the score when listening to it by itself but after seeing the images and the music match up, I can't get enough of the album. I don't think it's anything groundbreaking in terms of creativity in the score arena, as it has very similar themes to other composers works.

*SPOILER*

It was funny seeing the Daft punk cameo. Some of the effects were fantastic, like when somebody was killed in the Grid by a disc and they break into mozaics. Also how the light cycles appeared. I wish this film was made by another company, I think it'd be amazing as a darker film. It does feel pretty dark, and the music accentuates that but it just lacks that deeper level. The ending was a little cheesy, but yes, the female lead wasn't bad. I prefer the blonde in the white tight pvc omg.
*SPOILER*

Yeah I don't think Disney spent the money on this that it deserved. Even though it was pretty, and there was some cool effects, they were all pretty basic. With a big budget and the right production company this could have been so much better.

The trick is not to expect too much from movies like this. I think they wasted way too much time trying to explain the story, fuck the story. It's Tron, most people get the idea, just give us the good stuff.

I'm surprised! I actually thought you were gonna dump on the movie!

I can't even put this film in the top 20 of this year!

OH yeah, the reason they went to great lengths with the plot is that the SEQUEL is a 2-decade gap over the first one, so they needed to refresh the people's memories. my dad refreshed it to me on the car ride to the movie that day.

I don't know, it seems like Tr2n tried to forget that Tron was made, and Tr2n is on its own. The name of the film suggests this too: Tron - Legacy, rather than Tron 2.

I don't know if i'd put it in my top 20 because I cannot remember most of the films I watch. I suppose what I loved about it is that it's like an extended Daft Punk music video. I love vivid colours on blacks, and neon.

After reading this 2 part interview with Daft Punk, I have high hopes for their upcoming album as they seem to have learned a lot from this experience :)

We got some movie tickets as gifts for the holidays, so we might use them this weekend to see Tr2n on the IMAX in 3D.

I think it will be good fun in a popcorn flick kind of way. I'm going to go into this the same way I did Avatar, in that I am expecting a nice bit of orgasmic eye candy and mindless entertainment for a couple of hours. And nothing more.

Oh, and the bonus being it would be cool to hear how the music compliments the film.

my dad got the soundtrack for it, their is like 3 songs that actually cultivates Daft Punk's techno-ish ways, the others are more opera style. (also, 3 songs sound alike to each other in rhythm):

12. End of Line
13. Derezzed (of course)
21. Tron Legacy (end titles)
