This is a recording of a radio show, not a recording of the track itself. So, no, I don't think it was at all inappropriate to of Wincent to approach the idea of offering the BBC recording in this way. There are legitimate questions and concerns around this, and whatever management wants to make the mods do is fine, but in the end it's just annoying.
