Hello all, sorry I haven't posted in ages, but I still read this forum every day and love it.... Anyway, this is sort of a neerdy topic that really is limited to those with knowledge in the synth department or those who are curious. But I wanted to dedicate this topic to pointing out what noises come from where and perhaps we can teach/learn something others might've not.
FutureRetro 777
Get Yourself High (main riff)
Acid Children (riff)
Roland Juno-106
Chemical Beats (Riff)
Out of Control (Riff)
Hold Tight London (Organ & Guitar-like Distortion)
Live Riffs for Out of Control (99 tour), Sunshine Underground, Setting Sun
Roland SH-101
Many of their noises from this tour between the encore.
Nord Modular
Pioneer Skies (via a guitar)
Nord Lead
Star Guitar (Ed Thinks, according to 1 interview)
Adromeda A6
Come With Us (as a filter for the stings folled by going through a Jupiter 6)

Concerning Daft Punk :
Rollin' & Scratchin' :
Juno 106 with a distortion effect
A lot of HAA sounds :
A guitar with a "Digitech Synth Wah" and a "Bass Synth Wah" effect
http://www.digitech....h/SynthWah.html
http://www.digitech..../BassSynth.html
Biff, do you know if the chems use moog synths ? cause the bassline on Denmark sounds cery moogish...

Fantastic topic! :D
Korg MS-10
The "bomb-falling-whistle" sounds in Leave Home. (Just a guess X-D)
ARP 2600
Used all over the Surrender album.
Rebirth 303 softsynth
Used somewhere in It Began In Afrika.
Octave Kitten (broken)
Maaaaad acid improvs at the end of live gigs.
Nicked the last three from interviews/articles.
Ben_j: Yes. The most recent kitlist I found has both a Memorymoog and a Minimoog listed.

Yeah Ben-J that's total moogage in denmark.
I'm 99.9% sure that the live elements for Piku & Block Rocking Beats (The warping noises where the break and "Back With Another..." are) is the Octave Cat's cry of love.
Seems like in their 1997 tour they used a lot of TR-909 drum machine, check out the breaks on the live version of Elektrobank from The Singles.
The SH-101 noises I'm guessing but am almost positive on because I was able to make those noises and they do bring it to the shows, it's near the back wall. It might also be the noises between the first part and second.

they used the sh-101 for chemical beats i think, rather than the juno.
i know they like the oberheim xpander and i think that used in piku a lot (the reverse-y sounding synths)
id give my left nut for a future-retro 777 :'( X-D
btw im also selling my nord lead 2, so if anyone wants to re-create star guitar, give me a shout ;)

I just remember a thing : Chrisman told me once that the beats in Song to the Siren were done with the Casio EZ 1Probably, chemical beats i recall is after hearing the cowbell on the casio and also it doesn' t matter
I think in their lives they use the MPC instead

well yeah their entire show is mainly samples and not the actual drum machines. Tom obviously uses his MPC 3000 for sequencing and occasionally for sounds such as the dance-snares in songs like Hey Boy Hey Girl. I think those random noises in the live act are done by the triggers on this such as those chimes, the "uh" chemical beats hook, the roaring cat noise, and so on. Either that or an octapad (Ed uses)

Don't know exactly (sure many could make that noise), but it's probably a polyphonic synth... maybe the juno?
we can see Ed in front of the right MAQ 16/3 on the live on the DVD, so that's got to be the synth under the MAQ. I think it's the MS2000 but I'm not sure. It seems too small to be the 2000

I wouldn't necessesarily take that into accound since a vast amount of their synth sounds are run out of the samplers since that one that doesnt' change live. it's very possible that could be a ms2000, probably ran through some sorf of filter to give it that amazing sound.
