Get over it man, they don't make big beat music, they never have, all they've ever made is Chemical Brothers Music
It just so happened that 10 years ago, some music called 'Big Beat' happened, by chance, to sound like Chemical Brothers Music, and they were mistakenly associated with other Genre, one-trick acts, like Prodigy, Fatboy Slim and Crystal Method. Not that there's anything wrong with doing one thing and doing it well, but the Brothers are not to be pigeonholed like other, lesser, mortals.
and BTW, 99% of the "Chems Mixes" on demonoid are not the Chems at all. Even counting the bootlegs of their live shows, I would say there's less than 20 real chems mixes in existence (I hope antype or someone can correct me if I'm wrong and give us the real number).

Well, if you're so into big beat, I hear the Fatboy Slim forum is as desperate to have new people as we are desperate to be rid of them.
and I can totally see the comparison to Justin Timberlake, I mean, totally.... god knows that ALL the pop songs out there talk about taking so many pillz that your brain feels like bubblegum and explodes inside your head. Yep, the pop market is just overflowing with 'I'm really fucked up on the dance floor songs'...
oh, wait, it's not? nevermind.

i never mentioned the lyrics.. i said it SOUNDS LIKE..
in all seriousness i don't want to piss anyone off m8..have you heard "palookaville".. not one song on there is big beat..i might try the hybrid forums though.. their album "i choose noise" is fantastic..that's the sound i hoped the chems would sound like now..if anyone here hasn't heard it..get it.. you WILL NOT be dissapointed.

Do It Again is really sweet. I like it more than most forum members I suspect. Listening to the album again for the first time in a couple weeks. Looking forward to a few select tracks a lot. I do see some similarities to recent Timbaland productions, though. This shouldn't be surprising though since I'm the one who brought that up originally, I think.

Listening to DIA at the moment. I can see a slight influence from minimal productions but this is not a minimal tune by any means. I can hear elements of minimal, a bit of electro, but it's a Chems tune first and foremost. There's little bits stolen from their own tunes, esp. PTB and on.

you know, I just realized... DIA could sound exactly like a Justin Timberlake, or brittany spears song... it could be a note for note cover, but you know what? I'd never fuckin' know it, because I don't listen to that sorta shit. You could play a medley of top 40 crap and I couldn't tell you what any of em are.
