(sorry if you expected another type of "introduction")
There was a kind of contest on the movie's official facebook page a few weeks ago, consisting in choosing 10 songs to make Hanna discover our world's music.
Here's Joe Wright's list :
1. Rez by Underworld
2. Over and Over by Hot Chip
3. Horse Power by Chemical Bros'
4. Vitamin C by CAN
5. Kooks by David Bowie
6. Light Green Fellow by Michael Hurley
7. Cross Bone Style by Cat Power
8. Matty Groves by Fairport Convention
9. Certified Murderer by Kiprich
10. Escape Velocity by Chemical Bros'
As I found the idea pretty much interesting, I decided to create a topic about it here (so that it's not confused with the movie in itself). So, what's your list ?

la düsseldorf is one of those 70s krautrock bands around the dinger brothers klaus and thomas. klaus has been kraftwerk member for a while ald also playing in NEU!, thomas was in NEU! also. in the 90s, they reformed both bands as one project called la!neu?
best album IMO is viva from 1978 which was a bit more electronic with some dada lyrics http://www.discogs.c...va/master/25072, however their first one (self-titled) from 1976, which is merely krautrock, is big also http://www.discogs.c...rf/master/25062
definitely worth to check them out!

I'm not sure if you've noticed the theme of my post

The song (sung) was banned from BBC broadcast around the time of WWII, although instrumental versions were allowed. This prevented a number of cover versions being played, including those of Billie Holiday and Genesis. The full original version was only played once, on an early 1980s programme on Radio Three (?) called ‘Listen to the Banned.
The song was apparently quietly unbanned at some stage between ‘Listen to the Banned’ and 2002, when it was played on BBC Radio Two.
2002.

Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless
Dearest the shadows I live with are numberless
Little white flowers will never awaken you
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thought of ever returning you
Would they be angry if I thought of joining you?
Gloomy Sunday
Gloomy is Sunday, with shadows I spend it all
My heart and I have decided to end it all
Soon there'll be candles and prayers that are sad I know
Let them not weep let them know that I'm glad to go
Death is no dream for in death I'm caressing you
With the last breath of my soul I'll be blessing you
Gloomy Sunday
Dreaming, I was only dreaming
I wake and I find you asleep in the deep of my heart, here
Darling, I hope that my dream never haunted you
My heart is telling you how much I wanted you
