About an hour ago I found out that there is a screener here in Edmonton next Wednesday. Went and got in car and drove straight to the theatre. Now I officially have 2 tickets to see Don't Think!
Excited! Don't care if I have a Math midterm 24 hours after. Closest I will get to see a live chems show and get back to Fuji Rock. Mind you that may change in 6 months when I'm done school (for good).
Now trying to get my friend who knows the manager to get me one of the posters.

I was right up front, the screen was huge
Adam and Marcus from flatnosegeorge gave a little speech first, and MAtt Smith (docotr who) and Kiera Nightly were there
... as was Ed, who's hand I shook!! I sad 'thanks, that was awesome' and left it at that
A great night.

I have to get my head 'round this one.
This was:
AMAZING (Whirls you know the way i pronounce Amazeeeeeng!)
So at first the dutch crowd (as always) was just chillin.
Until HBHG - People jumped up!
Everybody cheering, clapping, party! Arms in the air! Yes yes it was great.
So now about the movie.
BRILLIANT.
Because you can now see so clear how well all the visuals and lights go in time with the music. How amazing the visuals are. How amazing everything syncs up. The butterfly visuals gave me goosebumps. This film combines two of my greatest loves: the chems and japan. The facial expressions of the crowd is amazing. It gives me goosebumos thinking about it! Also the japanese girl 'tripping' (i don't know how else to discribe) is very real, very haunting! And they make fun of people freaking out of the YOU ARE ALL MY CHILDREN NOW clown! Yes ive seen it happening at gigs, people on shrooms freaking out on the clown. AWESOME.
Tom and Ed: I felt very proud of you both throughout the whole movie. That might sound a bit corny, but you guys are out of this world.
Love is all my dear chemical friends.
PS: Cant wait for the DVD to come out so i can show all my friends and my mum!

Chicago dropped the ball on the theater experience. The sound was low enough that you said to yourself, "they need to turn the sound up". We didn't get that 7.1 experience at all. We even went out and explained that it was a concert film and if they could turn up the volume, it would be greatly appreciated.
Kinda irrelevant though. The film was as mind blowing as I thought it would be. The crowd shots were really cool.

I agree with you on that one. My buddy actually said to me, "I think those guys just asked them to turn up the sound" because about 25 minutes into it the sound got a little louder but not loud enough. I was in the front row of the 2nd section so I couldn't see if the crowd behind me was going crazy or not. I know a lot of people had to go to the bathroom though because every 5 minutes people would walk by.
The film though was nothing shy of brilliant. The director and the editor deserve to be recognized for such a new, fresh, exciting, and creative way for capturing a live concert. It was a film that stayed with me. I couldn't fall asleep because I had every single song swirling in my head and I woke up the same way (and I was sober for the most part). I am honored to say that I saw this film the first night of it's release and I can't wait to see it again with 20 of my friends next week. Excellent job Chemical Brothers. Now get your asses back to Chicago!!!!!

My review will be better suited for Wednesday night. And I won't have anything but amazing things to say. To see the clown on the screen as if you were standing on stage, and have a homeless person sized bottle of jack daniels in your system is quite an experience.
I'm kinda mad at myself for getting so drunk, but the chemical brothers will get you besides yourself in many ways.
Full review next Thursday. And remember, if you're drivin... don't drink. And if you're drinkin, don't drive.
