Germany were impressive last night, Australia didn't know what hit them. I thought the sending off of Tim Cahill was harsh but I suppose the damage was already done. It will be interesting to see where the Socceroos go from here - the games against Ghana and Serbia will not be easy. An inspiration for them could be Ukraine back in 2006, they went down 0-4 to Spain in the first game but still managed to make it to the Quarter Finals, so its not all over yet for them.

it's like 2006. the only team who plays attractive football is germany. hopefully brazil or portugal will do some nice ballplay too...
till 2006 i hated germany (big rivalisation between germany and austria where i live). but since 2006 they are really strong, have a great team spirit and play the best soccer of them all.

I always new we where the underdogs in this match. We all had high hopes for the Socceroos but deep in our hearts we all new our asses would be served up to us by Germany. The Red card was very harsh! We had no hope after Tim Cahill left the ground. Yellow card would have been acceptable!
Germany has fantastic form! So damn structured! I don't think we know what the word "Possession" means anymore after yesterday!
Here's to Saturday I guess....
its a little early but thanks anyway

Honestly, I'm not disturbed by the Vuvuzelas. I just don't give a fuck.

Finally some drama in this World Cup!
New Zealand equalise in the 3rd minute of injury time (and a good header it was too) and a very brave North Korea frustating the Brazilians. I don't think anyone can say it was a 10 man-behind the ball job either, the men in red were fast as fuck on the counterattack with the impressive Jong Te Sae taking on the Brazilian defenders. Maicon finally broke the resistance though with a shot (or was it a cross?) from a tight angle. Elano got the second, slotting home from a defence-splitting pass. Just when the Koreans looked to be tiring, late on a fantastic ball was played into the box, was headed down to Yun-Nam Ji who fired home over the keeper.
Nice to see the Koreans showing up some of the lazy ITV coverage before the game, who's policy seemed to be "we're not going to tell you much about North Korea because Brazil will hammer them anyway".

Should be interesting when Portugal and Ivory Coast play N Korea - they're not the pushovers that they expected before last night. Would be great to see the smug grin wiped off Ronaldo's face.
It certainly would - he was cheating within the first 10 mins yesterday. It wasn't long before the Ivorian defenders were having a go at him over it!
