This is just a response to someone's comment:

The problem with the second film was not it's complexity but it's inability to show why it was complex. The sign of a great story is that it's identifiable and understood, if your audience is lost then you have not done your job correctly.

I disagree, this film envokes thought. The viewer watches this film, goes away confused, comes to their own conclusions by talking to people, thinking, reading, viewing.

I've not seen a film like this before. People will never stop talking about it because there is no one actual story, but many different possibilities.

The trilogy is one of my favorites stories, ever. Although it does have logical/philosophical holes, which I think lead to the confusion in the second movie.

You see holes, I see places which you do not fully understand and can be explained. It is out there, you just have to search for it.

Here is an error.

They claim that there has been more then one neo, that the events that have unfolded have ocurred many times. Although this is impossible since the individuals who are hooked up as batteries into the matrix are in fact individuals, so there cannot be two physically identical people, there cannot be two identical minds, there cannot be two identical ocurrances of events.

They confused the line between the matrix and the real physical happenings that are going on outside the matrix. That is to say, the minds and the bodies of the people who are attached to the matrix. The matrix is controlable, but the minds of the people who are attached are not.

That's what confused me. How can someone free their mind ??? Why not free everybody's ? Maybe it's a silly question but a question neverthless..

iguanapunk Escribi:

Glako: The matrix, simple? I don't think so, how many people said they were confused by it, and still are.

People who didn't really like Reloaded at first didn't understand it, when you think about it, which these films require you to do, you enjoy the film a lot more.

I felt the acting by Keanu Reaves was perfect for the role of Neo. I know there is a lot of bitching about it on the Internet, but I disagree. Respektay!

ZOOM. So defensive!!! The Matrix (1) is simple. Its a cookie-cutter screenplay with an elaborate idea on top to keep it interesting. Not much character development, but solid nevertheless. Awesome special effects, some light philosophy, and a Christ symbol pull it all together very well.

Okay, on to Reloaded. Unstructured (read: lame) screenplay with a fairly unoriginal idea. Useless character introductions, pointlessly meandering story, dull dialogue, and tiring. Topnotch special effects, but they were not employed well. Next, Reloaded is NOT deep, okay? Maybe may people think that it is just because they think that what they don't understand or an information overload *must* to be deep. Its disorganized, and it wasn't carefully kept together. Essentially, it "rambles" - but its not rambling of the genius sort.

I'll comment on Revolutions once everybody has seen it.

That fight scene might be the greatest visual representation of a battle I have ever witnessed.

Heh, oh well. I really enjoyed Revolutions anyway... (except for that asinine, cheesy half-hour Zion battle, which brought my score for the film from 7.5 to 6.5).

I'd like to point out, as a 3D artist (and person with an observant eye), that that fight scene did NOT look fake! Allright? You've all been conditioned to know whats fake-looking or not, and that fight looked great. Need I say more?

it's been almost a week since I saw it, but from what I remember, I really liked it. I really like the matrix for it's philosophy, though I must admit, I'm not sure it's completely consistent or clear what that is. All I know is what I believe and how parts of the matrix kind of align with that sometimes. One of my favourite parts in Revolutions is actually the discussion about words and their meaning..
