The bros also seem to have changed the way they make their songs, abandoning the ABC verse/chorus form in favour of a constant "base" rhythm and melody which they develop additively or subtractively. Sorry if that's over analysing or pure shite talk, maybe it's all this chinese food I've wolfed down my chute tonight :-)

The whole battle weapon series is aimed solely at the dancefloor (they even have "dj tool" written on the label), so yeah, it's natural that these two would follow that trend and have a more progressive dancefloor structure. I'm sure there'll be songy songs on the album still.

As much as #9 is the evil, dark direction I was hoping for, #8 is doing the trick for me so much right now. It's Push the Button taken in all the right directions. Mentally euphoric. I will see the Chems in the next year. This settles it. $30,000 in debt or not, fuck it.

Thanks Tom & Ed both for creating the tunes and keeping us updated.

Wow. These tracks represent a major departure from what we've heard before. I was listening to them on my mp3 player on a quiet walk tonight and it was hard associating the sound with the band! That said, they seem to be following a trend I noticed since Push The Button. This trend seems to be peeling back the layers and creating a leaner, meaner, tighter, more broody and futuristic sound. However, this progression seems to almost uncosciously soundtrack these uncertain times. Have we ever had "certain" times methinks?

The bros also seem to have changed the way they make their songs, abandoning the ABC verse/chorus form in favour of a constant "base" rhythm and melody which they develop additively or subtractively. To be honest I don't think they're a real departure, which is a good thing, they both sound instantly like the Chems to me (a very good thing). They both sound new and fresh but also not that yet evolved. I've not heard all the EBW's but the one's I've got sound like real works in progress, which is after all what they are. Look a the difference between Hoops (my all time fav chems track) and the EBW that preceeded it, they're worlds apart.

Thats why I'm really excited by these two new tracks because if you think they're amazing now, wait until they're finished.

Cheers

Toby

It's dark and demented, just as Tom suggested it would be }:-)

EBW9 is like Christmas, you're expecting it to be dark and a bit evil, but when it arrives and you hear it for the first time, it's so much better than you could have imagined. I like the slower tempo too, I think it's really smart. They could have kept it up there with EBW6/7, but it wouldn't have worked I feel. It's perfect, and I can't wait till it shatters my bones at NYE :D

Yes i am pretty sure i heard this in hollywood.

It's not a chems track i think.

I remember because i remember the feeling - I was first ever coming up on E and this was one of the songs played. And i remember it sounded ( and still does ) un-fucking-believable.

ANYONE ?!?! NEED THIS TUNE!!!

( Thnx Den_B by the way ;) )
