So glad you got to experience the film, brother ging! There were some parts of the film that were very moving - the swoon one, the end. It was very... Tender and sweet.

Thinking of these visuals on a massive LED screen... I'm wondering how peoples' heads weren't exploding at Roundhouse!

Anyone catch the robot tiward the end of the film? ;)

The most moving for me was Snow. When the deep bass hits and Further Girl plunges into the water, I grin huge and laugh in awe, every time.

And speaking of these visuals on a massive screen, I just watched Further sitting about 3 feet away from an awesome 44-inch projector style TV! It was almost like watching it for the first time again - now I REALLY need these visuals in HD!

I just noticed something - listen closely during the section preceding 'Caroline, Caroline'. I swear I can hear that 'music gets lounder, lights swirl faster' vocal that they use in their live sets.

Anyone else hear it? It's pretty faint but it's there.

Snow took my breath away, it... Even made me tear up a little bit. It's such a beautiful, welcoming introduction to the album. The accompanying visual is as perfect as could be. I think it's sublime!

We transferred the further experience over to our ps3 using the ps3 media server - we have a nice set up in the living room so I'm really looking forward to experiencing this in HD.

about the horse: i think the further movie tells a stringent story. f.e. the birds in k+d+b are the ones you can see in the silhouettes of the hot further girl and and mr. john doe.

horse power: first she doesn't listens to her heart which says: remember to fall in love, there's nothing else. so she / the horse runs away from that idea...that's why she is in a kind of a bad trip. finally in swoon she's coming back on the bright side.

just a guess.

I thought the same thing!

Here is something that I commented on whirly's facebook just an hour ago:

Quote

I've been thinking about this a bunch--I think Horsepower serves two purposes to the story of the visuals. First, it represents the girl and guy escaping the scary experience in Dissolve. The second point of Horsepower is to show the girl's attempt to not give into emotion, and thus it is sort of like "remember to [not] fall in love." This, of course, gives way to the much more colorful antithesis "Swoon."
Well, thats how I currently interpreted it anyways. It is truly interesting with respect to how open it is for interpretation. :)

I won't lie to you all, I'm saving watching the movie til Sunday night, I'm gonna make jerk chicken and watch it with my friends, so I cannot tell from the plot of it makes more or less sense on the visuals. But horses are always good for symbolism of energy, liberation, restlessness, and of course funny talking animals..

Agreed. The only thing I can add, is that the song sneaks up and surprises you on an emotional level. Once you hit those opening lyrics, you feel like time stops. At that moment I knew that Tom and Ed had created something special. Truly awesome stuff.

gave his mop a chop,

I got an email saying the pass has been updated - so now the album and Don't Think are processing. It's only June 20th still where I am - not that I'm complaining about getting my iTunes pass updated a little early or anything! ;)

I don't wannt bitch too hard, but album-only bonus tracks - weak. I'd gladly pay cash for the tracks themselves, but I've got the DVD package so won't be buying again on iTunes. I hope to god the decision gets reversed and I'll be able to buy them, if not from iTunes some other online retailer
