Really moving. Nicely done, Heart and others doing LZ songs, if you can take a look at entire thing, I found it quite amusing (Obama singing I think it was Ramble on).

Wow, just wow. You can see how the old lads were moved by this performance. So was I.

Ah, I nearly posted that here the other day. This cover is quite amazing

Think about standing on stage and you have to perform Stairway in front of Led Zep...

On the other hand: there are a couple of songs that just can't be covered by anyone - Stairway is one those.

Well the addition of the brass and the choir is nicely done. Not sure why Plant has tears in his eyes, maybe it was the whole occasion. I would have preferred if Page, Plant and Jones were on the stage rather than Heart though. Jason Bonham's looking chunky these days...

I remember reading somewhere that they used hat like Bonham used to wear, I think this coupled with fact that his son plays drums and really whole occasion as you put it moved them, esp. Plant. And artist before Heart where pretty good. Not so sure about them taking the stage, though, they are old and their last concert (O2 i think) showed that.

@TED
Nice one, lovely song

I watched a tv version of that "Celebration Day" O2 gig recently (8 of the 16 songs that are on the DVD). Yeah they look old but I thought the gig was really good, and I really need to hear the remaining eight songs. I was one of the 20 million people around the world who applied for O2 tickets in 2007. I've seen Robert Plant live in the intimate environs of Hammersmith Palais (7 Zep songs) and Page and Jones at a Foo Fighters gig (2 zep songs). That may be as close as I ever get to seeing LZ. But if they announced new gigs tomorrow I think I'd pay a lot of money to see them.

I've expressed myself badly, more tired then old. They did seem to me low energy in O2 concert, especially Page, who sounded somewhat blurry, not so clear when playing. Don't get me wrong, I love LZ and would also pay for seeing them in any setting anytime, they at 50% (or my perceived 50%) are still better for my money then almost anybody.

I'd totally agree with you but they really nailed it ! The other covers at this ceremony were good, but not THIS good. This was truly amazing and you can tell it was by the way Page, Plant and Jones react
