Oh and if you haven't seen any of these films, SPOILERS!
Interesting to see the death of 'someone' in Django Unchained, with the blood coming out of the rosetta on their lapel. Probably inspired by that clip from Il Mercenario that Bosco posted on the 'News From Ed' thread.

But beware, the new laser sword equipment could result in some serious lawsuits with the SW-OEM. Especially with American jedi!

I can see why the critics love it. It's different from all the other films they have to sit through, and it makes you feel like you're watching something intelligent, which is bound to appeal to the scribblers.
I knew precious little about it beforehand, thinking it would be a humorous 'grown up' superhero movie. It really isn't. However the characters/acting drew me in and I was open to accepting the film for what it now appeared to be.
It's not an easy ride, and some descriptive words that come to mind are: Funny, irritating, engaging, frustrating, original, pretentious, insightful, challenging.
Part of me wants to see it a second time and part of me really doesn't. That may sound schizophrenic but I'd like to think that's a reflection on the film rather than the viewer.

Written and directed by Alex Garland who wrote Sunshine, it's a ‘thoughtful’ Sci-Fi flick. The small cast are all good, in a nuanced, subtle kind of way. Let’s hope Domhnall Gleeson (son of Brendan) and Oscar Isaac are as compelling when they both re-appear in the new Star Wars film in December.
Don't be misled by DJ Shadow in the trailer; he ain’t on the film soundtrack. But the soundtrack is co-composed by Geoff Barrow of Portishead, which may be of interest to some of you.

Well anything's possible at Pacha.

Yes in Pacha. It was always in a Spanish party and they came El Matador and they came to the dancefloor with the special music and danced. But between the people on the dancefloor.
So did the horse shit on people, then?
Sometimes! Only in Pacha you could see that, but in Ku you used to see the bull from Sant Ermin! Yeah! It’s a very traditional thing from near San Sebastian and the owner was from the Basque country, so they do a traditional party with two or three thousand people and a bull in the middle. But the bull fell in the swimming pool because it was so full...
