I was just wondering if you guys got to listen to Kanye West's new song "Stronger", and what you guys thought of it...I know I'm gonna get a lot of shit for saying these two words: Daft Punk, but anyway...

Kanye samples Daft Punk's "Harder Better Faster Stronger"....or should I say, he just raps over DP's song...

Anyway, I liked the idea because at least it helps diffuse a lil' electronic here in the US...which is almost non-existent...What are your guys' take?

Huh? People here don't like Daft Punk? I love them; they were actually the ones that first got me hooked on electronic music. Songs like Aerodynamic, Around the World, and Harder, Better... etc. are classic.

Anyways, I'll have to check out this remix, although I doubt it is as good as the original (ie. it probably takes away from the original). It is nice to see that good electronic music is being paid some recognition in the US, however (Kanye West is American, right?).

Yep, Kayne is American. He's incredibly skilled and intelligent, but I read a few interviews with him and I find him to be a little bit pretentious. Actually - he came off as an arrogant asshole. I think Kayne threw a fit at some music video award too because a video (that didn't have millions spent on it like Kayne's did) took home the award. Anyway, can't say I'm a fan and I never got into the music, but if he's exposing more people to electronic music, then more power to him. I can't really complain.
