So... Finally, after 14 years, Fatboy Slim finally did his first ever DJ Set in France, in Paris. I went. It was terrible. Really awful. He played mainly crappy remixes of tracks such as Bette Davis Eyes, Billie Jean, Seven Nation Army or Young Folks. The very beginning was awesome, but after 5 minutes, he started the crap.
Anyways, I can die in peace now, since I've seen The Chems, Prodigy, Aphex Twin, Amon Tobin and now Fatboy Slim.

Now, to quote Jeanie's first ever post of this topic :

Ooo that's too bad to hear about Fatboy. I know how much you were looking forward to seeing him. I saw him ages ago and had a great time but that was then... he was good at reading his audience and riding the wave.

Anyway what were the crowd like? Did anyone seem to be enjoying themselves?

The crowd was really really packed and crazy at the very beginning of the set. Then 30mn later everyone was calm and bored.
I'm uploading videos.

EDIT :

The intro of the set :

"Everybody shake your pants ! Paris, shake your pants ! Wave your hands up in the air ! Paris, shake your pants !"

Well play something good then, you dumbfuck

EDIT 2 :

Come on... really ???

@ben, I saw Fatboy back in 05 and I had the same reaction. His set seemed really pop tinged. But then I have heard some of his sets since then and they sound like excellent party sets. I think someone here (don't quote me) said it best that he either plays an awesome party set or a mediocre pop set. Better luck next time.

btw, wasn't it about 2 years ago that he played coachella in the sahara tent and people were raving about it here.

@ jeanie, that's looks like stereotypical dutch countryside....pretty!!!!! when can we come visit?

That sucks that you were so disappointed. :-( He's a very good DJ, but he is SOOOOOO 90s/early 2000s. He's lost touch, unfortunately.

This forum should REALLY have a thread for general questions about The Chemical Brothers.

Right now, i want to ask if 'It Doesn't Matter' samples Aphex Twin, or it's the other way around, or both of them sample a third artist?

AFX song where i heard this sample: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Ad4zMZHwjRk

He played Coachella in 2001. ;) He went on before turning the decks over to the Chems and it was going off big time!

And Jeanie - hooray on your fantastic test score, I knew you'd do it!! And I hope you get the house, too! :D

After nearly being crushed by an avalanche of old threads buried within a mountain of pages, I have emerged with this thread:

http://www.thechemic...-chemical-faqs/

It used to be a sticky topic but traffic dropped off so much I undid it. I can stick it again if you all would like.

AFX sampled "It doesn't matter". The Chems created the beat with a Casio drum machine
