apart from the obvious Baba O'Riley (aka teenage wasteland) by The Who, i've found another one hehe freshy fresh

from 0:20 and throughout

of course the chems added some cute delay and distort fx

EDIT: i'm not sure but this song was sampled by Pete Rock among others, and its pretty common

Nice find Josse ! But I don't know if it's really a sample, there is similarities but I think it's easier to do it with synth and sequencer than with a reworked sample.

i personally don't have any problems with samples, it's what dance music was built on!

I don't know whether its a sample or its just similar. The very beginning of LCD Soundsystem's 45:33 sounds quite similar too and infact when I heard that track for the first time I thought it sounded similar to a piece of music by Steve Reich. Its a just a rising scale of notes after all. Qutie common in lots of pieces of music.

I love the whole track. It's a fun little romp through 70's-era robotics. I'd like to hear the flipside, though! That was a bit of a tease.

I don't agree - those are just three random notes - there's nothing else similar to Lush and Swoon - the whole vibe n structure of Swoon is completely different and way more lusher. Even if Ed n Tom got the notes from there, they did a lot more to it to turn it into the superepic Swoon is.

Certainly a simularity there, if you don't hear it then you're an official fanboy.

Of course not. I think people are just getting confused as to what a 'sample' actually is.

lol ^
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

about lush/swoon: there is more similarity than just the notes, both melodies have portamento/glide. the sounds from the synths are in both tracks quite similar.
but it ain't a sample :)
