First Track - Last Track - Ebw

I really like the instrumentation in it, but "I'm alive, I'm alone, and I've never wanted to be either of those"... Damn.

the whys:
Snow: it's the moment when the bass drops which is massive. And the dive scene only adds to the experience
Reel: This was a hard one cause Surface and Test are personal favourites aswell but the Reel is a better "last track" for both the album and the live show
EBW9: easy pick. It does exactly where EBW's are made for and it's still the only EBW (meaning no remix or b-side or album track)

Yeah, those are really heavy lyrics. There's been times... when I really couldn't listen to this song. Not because I don't like it. I think it's brilliant. But it was just too heavy in my heart.

To combine both experiences, I'd go for...
Opener: Hey Boy Hey Girl - builds the tension brilliantly at the beginning and kicks things off with a bang. And of course the 'here we go' refrain says it all really.
EBW: EBW 1/It Doesn't Matter - simply for the robots live, but mainly cos it's still one of my top five Chems tunes.
Closer: Any from The Reel, Sunshine Underground or Chemical Beats. They all do the same job but in their own unique way, whether it's epic like the Reel, the hug-a-stranger happiness of Sunshine or the all out bounce-like-a-loon of Chem Beats.

I must unashamedly admit I remember the whole concert, but then again I was so blown away by it, who knows what happened. I became a huge fan after that concert, so at the time I didn't know a lot of what I was hearing. I was 49 years old and decided to go from a TV ad. Best fucking night of my life!
They definitely played TPPR and my misses assures me they closed the show with it. I get a rush just thinking about it.

You can see them playing Sunshine, which was their usual set-closer for the era. Were those the visuals you remember, Krisp? Do I have the right show?

It just caught my attention, I thought, 'shit I like some of their stuff, how about we go'. I live 1.5 hours drive from Sydney so we booked a hotel right over the road from the venue. It was great, after the gig just had to cross the road, and continue the party.

That was the show, although cause we got the tickets late we weren't on the floor and were to the side. That was the set closer, but I am sure they did TPPR in the encore. I could be wrong, my mind was on another planet somewhere.

How old are you? (It's amazing if you have more than 50 and you like The Chems )

hehe when it comes to the Chems, truer words have never been spoken... But I must give credit where credit is due. My signature quote came from Pete Tong when he premiered Escape Velocity!
