As I said, it's ridiculous to expect Private Psychedelic Reels on soundtrack that Lorde has creative control over, at least as far as I gathered. Maybe at Tomb Raider (teen movie?) they had much more control over track? That being said, it's not realistic to expect usual CB's 'quality and integrity', as you put it.
I'm afraid we are going in dangerous direction. Not everything they do is targeted at us, fans of their work.
Kids watching the movie will love it, as it's closer to their 'vision' of quality then it is to yours or mine.
In that light, song will do just fine. My 14 year old niece likes it.
And that is all there is to it, as I see it.

You are not beeing objetive as long as you don't keep in my that the track has been produced for Hunger Games. What would you expect? Another psychedelic madness? Just no.
yes, i'm being objective. I know it is made for a teenage movie like Hunger Games, i'm aware of that. You got me all wrong, i'm saying that they shouldn't go to that direction, selling their amazing capabilities to a industry that cash in art and wants to be hip or juvenile or take control over this new generation. They can reach younger audiences (if that's the case) from a different path, can't tell you exactly how, but theres must be a way to do it, right? But what the heck, they did it anyway and we can only hope they keep doing what they do best. And from a subjective perspective: i don't like it, i will just pass this and wait, easy. Cheers

Well, you can certainly make generalizations about taste and the intent of artists.
I think it was clear what T&E were going for with this track, which is to say create a "mainstream," "safe" sound that would be marketable toward general audience tastes.
They might have hit what they were aiming for. I can't quite be sure--I hate that shit.

Funny to see a claim about objectivity where objectivity is impossible. You can't be objective about taste.
Again... it is not about the taste (my fault for not explaining), it is about the choice to accept this type of marketing, that is the objective side. The taste side was a subjective opinion and i said i didn't like the song and thats it. Sorry if i cause some bad impressions with my comments, is just i wouldn't like the Bros take this marketing direction, selling their art the wrong way, they are truly amazing as they are right now. I think generalising too much about this can lead to know where. No one knows except for Tom and Ed and the people involved with this soundtrack how this was created and the intentions. And its a bit harsh to accuse Tom and Ed of 'dumbing' down they're talent for a 'mainstream' movie as what this assumption looks like here.
Hunger Games is not the worst movie to be a part of and Im sure Tom and Ed are big enough to turn it down if they felt it wasn't for them.

Come out from the cold and into the setting sun. It's where it all began for me (not in Afrika), like it was out of control. Then after that life was sweet. So dream on into the pioneer skies of the fourteenth century and rise from the sunshine underground.

Hmmm...glanced over the thread and I am afraid to listen to it! ha! I am gonna wait until I get buzzed tonight either way.
Don't know too many Miguel tunes so I am not sure what to expect there either. I love his "Smoke With Me Baby" track, but that's about all I know.
It's ok to not like a Chems track too...I was never too fond of the Kylie track...but you know, I got past it. I moved on and lived to hear the Chems put out some amazing shit afterwards.

Alright people. I had an interesting dream last night. I was visited by a talking basketball... Yes, a talking basketball.
The talking basketball told me "The unresolved opinion of 'This Is Not a Game' amongst forumites, was unacceptable."
"It's clear that the song is shit. The only positive reviews are coming from fans so desperate for a new song, they'll be satisfied with anything" I said confidently.
"This is true, but we must have a definitive answer as a whole, or utter chaos will come over the forum. I come to you Bosco, to resolve this feud. The talking basketball replied.
"But How?" I questioned.
"You will be granted an early off day from work tomorrow and proceed to your local basketball court. From there you will film yourself taking a shot from the 32-"
"The 32!!!???" I exclaimed.
"SILENCE!!!" The basketball shouted.
"You will shoot from the 32, and shot only once. If you make the shot, your just opinion will be forever spoken. It will sing from the heavens that this song is, and always will be, a waste of our time. If you miss... then you and those who share your opinion must be forever silenced. Mediocrity will be the New World Order, and all critically based opinions will perish. May god have mercy on our souls" the basketball explained.
"I don't know if I can handle the responsibility of such a fate" I hesitated.
"But you must, for I have visited 'The Bloke Off The Internet' first, and he is just too fucking weird" the basketball said.
"You're right" I confirmed.
"My time has come to go-"
"But wait, can you tell me any news about a new Chemical Brothers album!" I rushed.
"Close" the basketball muttered.
"Love is...." -aignt--aignt--aignt--aignt--aignt--aignt-(sleep alarm)
I woke up and thought, what the hell was that about. I got ready for work and went about my day normally.
It was at 2pm my boss told me that I could leave early. I gleefully obliged and proceed home for a nice long weekend.
I don't typically enter my home through my garage, but I had some outdoor supplies in my car that needed to be put away. As I began to stow away the supplies, I surfaced a familiar item.
It was a basketball. The same exact look and color of the basketball in my dreams.
"In my dreams!" I shouted in my head.
I had forgoten the talking basketball had mentioned that I would get off work early. And now, finding the exact same basketball in my garage... I knew I had a mission to finish....
(I apologize for my flopping junk ahead of time)

Haha .. so funny Bosco. I just listened to it again, I actually think it's pretty good. Would love to hear an instrumental too.
Further Remixed There's nothing else...

What sort of 'supplies' exactly did you have to put away Bosco?
