Yeah I just saw it today. But I think the Farewell tour thing is bullshit. The guy said it was a European farewell tour. What kind of nonsense is that? They ARE European. Will they never tour again??? The chems love playing live. I am sure we will see and hear much more of Tom and Ed.

well if the chems were to do a farewell tour i think they would do it proper, a venue tour with them headlining and friends supporting. i would feel somewhat cheated if there fairwell to was a series of festival dates. festivals are great but not the full chemical experience to me

I almost had heart failure, because the words "FAREWELL" and "TOUR" just socked me in the eye!!! What, no proper goodbyes?
I'm with sneaker on this one, I can't imagine they'd play a festival and throw in the towel. I think they were inspired by The Band "The Last Waltz" and how everyone who every worked with the Band joined them on stage when they said goodbye to their fans. Anyway. How cool would that be, if they ended on a high note with Tim Burgess, Beth Orton, Noel Gallagher, Bernard Sumner, Richard Ashcroft, Wayne Coyne, et al joining them on stage amidst a backdrop of Vegetable Vision brilliance?
But back to the point. I don't think this is goodbye. They've got a record coming out that they might want to promote with a tour. I remember rumors floating around during Come With Us, that it would be their last record, and people on the other board were freaking out saying it couldn't be so. And it turned out to be nothing but rumors.
I wouldn't be too worried. And if it is goodbye - well, we've got great music out of them that will last a lifetime!
Jeanie, you are going to have an amazing time! How exciting!! I am so glad you've already gotten the days off work. No doubt you'll need time after the experience to regroup, gather your thoughts, and post a lovely review for us all to read! :D

ah yeah, thats exactly what i meant whirlygirl!!!
i remember that death in vegas tried to do a show at the royal albert hall with all their collaberators. paul weller, liam gallagher and who ever else they had worked with in the past. but for what ever reason it got pulled. thats the way i'd like to see the chems go out, although not just yet!! that would be the way to bow out as the chemical brothers.
the venue : Royal Albert Hall
the main act : The Chemical Brothers
live pa's : Tim Burgess
Beth Orton
Noel Gallagher
Bernard Sumner
Richard Ashcroft
Wayne Coyne
K-os
Support : Death In Veags
Micronaughts
James Holroyd
Sasha
while i'm on the subject of death in vegas. it was a shame that they are no longer producing the new oasis album. i'm not an oasis fan by any means, but i'm not narrow minded with my music. i think this would have been fantastic meeting to two collective minds.
