lessseeee.... saw V for Vendetta the other night, it was awesome. Basicly the entire movie is anti-George Bush, and it gives great reasons for becoming a terrorist....

Watched 'The Weatherman' with Nick Cage, it was semi entertaining to watch, but then it ended and it was like, 'That's it? that's the entire story?' basicly it's a movie about a shallow, self obsessed asshole, and the grand moving point of the flick is him being comfortable and happy with being a shallow self obsessed asshole. I couldn't figure out why they bothered making a movie out of it.

watched Blazing Saddles the other night, for the first time in like 20 years, god that's a funny fricken movie.

Oh, saw Enron: the Smartest Guys in the Room, a documentary about how the people who were George Bush's biggest campaign contributors fucked the entire country and helped create the stock market crash of 2000.

I'll post more as I remember them, I watch 3 or 4 movies a week...

stash and I caught V For Vendetta over the weekend.

I really enjoyed it. I liked the content, the way it was filmed and I thought Natalie Portman definitely redeemed herself actress-wise. The shock she bears in one scene in particular really portrayed the intensity of her ordeal as well as the relief in that it was over, tripled with the frustration in feeling betrayed and tested for nothing more than an idea, a cause. The film was thought provoking, and conveyed how ideas are born out of fear and how an idea can manifest, stem a revolution. I thought near the ending was a little gratuitous with the slow motion fighting but I think the large explosive conclusion, though block-buster fantastic in a theatrical sense (not to mention me being a lover of all things London and thinking how there may still be raw feelings from the bombing events that took place last year was a bit off putting personally)... yeah, I felt the ending was a bit bombastic in it's symbolic show of stamping out a symbol of tyranny when the countless masked masses storming the city spoke more more volumes than anything being blown up just for the sake of blowing shit up. But maybe that's me. ;)

Enron, The Smartest Guys In The Room was a good flick. Very informative and it had my blood boiling by the time it was over.

We also watched Munich which was a great movie too, except for the end (to me, an ending can have a big impact on how I view a film, in case nobody's noticed). Most ridiculous ending in a film, where the hero of the story is having sex with his wife and he starts having a flashback. Everything - from the sex to the shoot-out flashback and back to the humping again, is in slow motion. And slow motion scenes are generally a bad idea in most films and should be kept to the confines of action flicks and far far away from gripping emotional dramas. Anyway, the sex scene - the guy had the most ludicrous look on his face which was a cross between pain, fury and ecstasy and just the plain old look of idiocy most people get on their faces when they are in the throes of passion - the end result was something rather comical. I guess serious films could use some comic relief, but other than the sexual mishap it was a very good film but one the viewer needs to pay close attention to. The lines become a bit muddy and there are times when it's hard to tell who is who and what side is what, but other than that it was a film worth seeing.

Also saw Walk the Line, great flick if you like Johnny Cash at all... I was pleasantly suprised by how well Reese Witherspoon did.

Oh yeah, and Good Night and Good Luck, which was almost like a documentary about Ed Murrow and McCarthy.

saw a shitload of films lately, THANK YOU BITTORRENT and my dvd burner.

I saw the Doors this weekend. I really liked it, I even thought it was better then Walk the Line. But then i am a bigger fan of the Doors then Johnny Cash.

Hehe, I just can't like that guy Nick Cage. Except for just one movie, where I REALLY liked him - Adaptation. But then a Charlie Kaufman can always do that - make u like jerks u've never noticed before. Like that other brilliant movie of his Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind - that was the only movie I liked that joker Jim Carrey. Michel Gondry and Kaufman are certainly one of my favourite duos of Hollywood today.

Gondry - Chem forums - hehe, it's already linkin up.

I think Nick Cage can be a really good actor, but he's been in a lot of stinkers. It seems to come and go in waves. Windtalkers, National Treasure, Gone in 60 Seconds, City Of Angels, The Rock, Con Air - all stinkers in my opinion. He's got a lot of range as an actor, can be serious, funny, dramatic. But I think he was worthy of the oscar in Leaving Las Vegas, funny and charming in Moonstruck, hopelessly nerdy and endearing in Adaptation...

I thought his best performance was in Raising Arizona. It's one of my favorite movies, one of the best chase scenes ever on film, and I really dig the Cohen Brothers - I think they're great directors.

I saw the Doors movie when it first hit theaters. Maybe it was because I saw it with my ex and our relationship was on the out, or maybe I felt it was too much of a cinematic masturbatory session for Oliver Stone, but I thought it could've been better perhaps without all the oo-so-trippy montages. It wasn't a bad film by any means and it was entertaining, it might be different seeing it now through older eyes - maybe I should see it again.

I love Spike Jonze. Fantastic director, so quirky yet his style works.

My favorite of his has to be Being John Malkovich. It was just so weird! It's so earnest in its delivery, but the context is so... strange. toomuch'stash and I also had a half tray of brownies beforehand when we saw it in the theater. We were laughing so hard when he Malkovich went into his own head, my face ended up hurting from the strain of utilising face muscles I never knew I had.

I heard a rumor that Spike Jonze and Kaufman were going to make 'The Three', the bad, bad movie that the brother in Adaptation wrote... it was just a rumor, and probably just a joke.

I hope then that you've checked out Charlie Kaufman's entire catalogue. Everything is fuckin brilliant - Adaptation being the most twisted of em all, for me. Just didn't like Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind, but then Kaufman really didn't have much to play around with in that script, it being a bio, and that jerk Clooney directing it.

Also, the Doors WAS good when I was a fan a long time back. Oliver Stone has to be one of my favourite five directors of all times, his downward spiral began with Any Given Sunday, which was decent, but BAD for a Stone film. And Alexander.. EEEEEKSS!!

Natural Born Killers has to be my favourite movie of all time, among a few other of course. ;)

Woody Harrelson also for GEE O DEE. (that's copywrited btw. :) )

they casted every character in that movie perfectly........when i first saw it, i couldnt believe what i was seeing 8O.......no human emotion in that film what-so-ever X-D It should be a required film to see in highschool :P it would knock everyone on an even playing field. }:-)

........as for movies ive seen ive recently caught up on a few classic Kubrick films that I've never seen. Clockwork Orange is one....which i think i need to watch again, cause im not too sure i understood exactly what was happening. :? And the other one being my new favorite movie of all time "2001: A Space Odyssey." Incredible visuals, music, and deep meaning. I really thought I wouldnt enjoy it and it turns out to be my favorite movie of all time. :o

my mom rented capote so ill probably be watching that tonight....

I think Clooney has proved his worth as a film director, Good Night And Good Luck being a really good film. But yeah, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind was utterly forgettable, unfortunately. He has managed to carve out a good acting career beyond television and has taken on more roles that showcase his talent, his character in Syriana was really really good but he has been in a number of stinkers. But I can forgive Clooney because I find him attractive in a classic actor sort of way, that boyish sparkle in his eyesm the dashing profile, so that's that and enough's enough. :P

Alexander was so bad, we turned it off.

'stash is a big fan of Natural Born Killers but I just didn't think it was that great. A great ride and an enjoyable one while it's going on - but hardly Ston'es best work. I did like Woody Harrelson, he does a good job in the film. Maybe the turn off for me is Juliette Lewis, she bugs the crap out of me... I don't know.

Speaking of Oliver Stone, one of his best has to be the highly underrated and underviewed Salvador. If you haven't already seen it and you're a fan of Oliver Stone, it's worth checking out. It's been too long since I've seen it.

I hate her and I think she bugs the crap out of everyone! which makes it a perfect role for her and the all the main cast of NBK (Woody, Juliette, Robert, and Tommy all fucking weird people.)In other words, Its ment to be annoying and uncomfortable film.
