I got so sunburned yesterday while drinking on my deck. My thighs are so red and glowing right now, I bet you could cook a hot dog on them. Wish I had a digital camera so I could take a pic.

Skin cancer, here we go..... (on the plus side, might have reduced my risk of prostate cancer...)

This week I'm taking care of my girlfriend's cat, Waddles, because her apartment building was bought by new owners and they're doing extensive inspections. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed in the building, so he's hiding away at my place, the cute little bugger. :D I don't think he knows what to do or where to go at my place, it's so much bigger than what he's used to.

I had a weird Chemical related dream last night. I think it was brought on by that Perfect Chems gig thread I responded to. I remembered it as I was going to get coffee this morning.

Anyway, a whole bunch of us were at a festival. 'stash was there of course, and my son was there, so was Darkstar and Electronic Battle Warrior, sneaker, irish fan, my brother-in-law, and a whole bunch of other people from the forum even though I don't remember exactly who - I just know a lot of people were there. I especially remember Jeanie, she was real tall. I know she's tall in real life, but in my dream, she was really friggen tall, I mean... she was towering above everyone! And she kept jumping up and down! X-D

It was night time, and none of us had a set list so we didn't know what time the Chems were coming on, but we knew it had to be one of the last sets at the festival. I got hungry and I had to use the potty in my dream, so I wandered off from everyone else. I distinctly remember taking my time getting some food, and I wandered off to get some drinks. The lines for the bathroom were too long but I needed to go so I was standing there in line just waiting and waiting. I kept looking at my watch thinking "oh I have plenty of time" Then off in the distance I heard Private Psychedelic Reel, I was thinking, "well that's weird, they are opening with Private Psychedelic Reel." I ran out of line and the festival grounds seemed to expand and turn into a neverending labyrinth of tents, stages and people. And I lost my way, I couldn't tell up from down or right from left.

I was frantic and so pissed off! I went to look for my phone but I couldn't find it. So rather than continue trying to find everyone, like an idiot I dumped out my purse and started cussing up a storm because my phone wasn't in there. And now the contents of my entire life were sprawled out on the grass, and I had to pick it all up and put it back in my purse before I could journey onward looking for the place where the music was coming from. Adn I heard the final bits of the Reel, and I was still holding out hope that they decided to open their set with that song rather than close with it.

But the music was gone, and all that was left was the chatter of people walking around as they were making their way out of the festival.

After what seemed like forever (and you know how dreams twist your perception of time) I made it to our large group who were there in front of the stage. The houselights were on and the Chems were gone, the show was over. I'd missed the whole stinkin set. '

'stash said to me, "You are so bummed right about now... where the hell have you been??"

And Jeanie squealed (as she was jumping up and down) "Oh my god, Tom and Ed came out before the show and hung out with us for like an hour, and they were really nice to us and they put on the best show I've ever seen, and during the set they kept waving to us..."

I was crestfallen. I mean, it was so ludicrous, the whole thing.

Then stash said, "Yeah, and Tom and Ed said to tell whirly better luck next time!"

X-D

Hi peepz,

Just recieved a text message from Jeannie. She's out of the country for her work and she's having a great time and she's waiting for her vacation to start as well.

She asked me to say hi to you from her so:

"HI!! I'm missing you guys. I'm having a real come down from not being on the forum for another 2 weeks. I feel like such a nerd. My job is fucking sweet but it's fucking hot around here!! I'm of for a little holiday next sunday WEEHEE :D "

So ok this is NOT an actual quote. And a gave it just an extra fucking and weehee to give it an extra Jeannie feel. I'll keep you posted...

I miss Jeanie, she's so sweet! The computer screen is going to be awash in a sea of orange tags when she makes it back to wherever a computer is.

Glad to hear she's having a good time where she is - and that reads just like her, I thought she really texted that whole thing! ;)

X-D hahaha!! Why does it not surprise me that you, the "Nude Marauder" of the forum, dreamt you were naked at a Chemical Brothers concert!

That's pretty interesting what you say about colors coming to mind when you see a person's name or read what they've written. Come to think of it, a maroon color comes to mind when I see your name on the screen. Hmmm, this could take some time trying to figure out what colors people are. X-D I'm sure there must be some kind of psychological explanation for this phenomenon!

FooK! Just got outbid on the complete VHS collection of Twin Peaks. Well, there's 10 minutes left, but I refuse to go over $80 for it. Ridiculous. Ah well, there're other copies out there....... (unless anyone here has the second season of Twin Peaks lying around collecting dust?)

Letsee. Last night we went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was disturbing in it's own right, but not as campy and disturbing as the Gene Wilder one. It was a great cast of actors who did a good job portraying the characters. It kept fairly close to the book, although the ending was changed around. Johnny Depp is downright strange, he looks like the love child of Andy Warhol and Michael Jackson. And he has an odd, aloof demeanor in the film that is... well, it's kind of creepy, perhaps a little more creepy than the character in the book. And the little boy who played Charlie was a living doll, he was so cute. Visually, the film was a masterpiece in the whimsical, surreal and eye-candyish kind of way that only Tim Burton is capable of. The music was by Danny Elfman, so it was good and that goes without saying. The ooompa loompa song and dance acts were amusing, a tad disconcerting and bordering on cheesy however, there really was no way around this as these numbers are an important part of the book as far as oompa loompa characterization goes. And the lyrics in the film were the same as in the books. The thing that struck me was the dark, twisted sense of humor the film provided. There was this one scene where all these animated puppets caught fire, and I laughed pretty hard. There were other scenes that were dark and twisted funny, but I think only about 15 other people in the packed theater "got" the humor.

After the movie, we went down to the ocean at a semi-secluded beach because it was red tide. It was amazing watching the waves break on the shore. I've seen a few red tides before but last night, I'd never seen anything quite like it. It was like an electrical storm right there in the ocean just underneath the surface of the water! There would be bursts of glowing turqouise light as the crests of the waves curled under and pounded the sand. You could see these glowing flashes further off in the distance as some of the waves hit the rocks just beneath the surface. What was really strange, and something I've never seen before, was that earlier on in the day it was high tide so all the sand was flattened out and still wet. When we walked on the sand that night, there would be soft glowing spots that would appear as our feet hit the ground. It was realy really cool.

And now I'm sad, and a little bored which explains the big post about bullshit. *sigh*

toomuch'stash has gone to Minnesota for 3 weeks. :( I can look foward to some hot yahoo chatting to pass the time in the evenings.
