Hi Y'all,

I was just hoping someone can help me. I heard a mix by the Chem's about 4 years ago on an Australian Radio Station. It was only called Glint or Glint1. I was hoping someone can tell me where I can get a copy or give me the tracklisting. Please help all Chem lovers. I have alredy got my ticket to the Big Day Out in Sydney to see the CB's in mid Jan. Already counting down the days... :P

I don't have a glint tracklisting, but I have the dusted decks tracklisting, and as far as I can tell it's just a bootleg copy of glint. Gotta love those "unknown" chem tracks with names. heh.

Same set list. It's the Essential Mix from Aug 24, 2001, recorded and burned to a disc and sold. Gotta love bootlegs. anType would be better to tell you whether In Glint is the same recording of the set list.

i thought the only essential mix they did was in 95. I know they did the essential selection mix. Does this mean dusted decks has pete tongs voice over it?

Oi. Ok, yes, it's the Essential SELECTION mix. My fault - didn't type the selection part. Being a yankee, I forget there's a diff. between the two. (i only listen to Radio 1 over the 'net)

i have in glint, dusted decks and my original recording of the essential selection of the radio.

in glint was played in its entirety on pete tongs essenital selection as part of a creamfields 2001 warm up. the chems were headlining the festival and played a dj set that year and previewed some tracks from come with us. in fact if i remember the set correctly they started with come with us on the night!!

dusted decks is the recording of the broadcast of the essential selection. most of pete tongs talking over the mix has been edited out (poorly). but most of the essential selection gingles still remain on dusted decks. like the section with the backwards bit of katmandu's the break. or the 'oi you this is essential' at the begining of it began in afrika.

my tracklisting for in glint was taken from the radio one web site. i have managed to fill some of the unkowns like base 6 and inpulsion's higher. the person who knocked up the dusted decks bootleg also decided to fill in the unknowns from the radio one track list. unfortunatley he had no idea of the titles so he creatively made up his own title names. its really anoying to me that he decide to make the track titles up. if they were not known it was probably because the track had not be given a title yet like in the case of base 6 or the tune might have been a white lable. like in the case of what is titled 'electronic deck weapon' which is a white lable bootleg of q-tip's breathe and stop accapella over a two step garage kinda tune.

i don't see it happening in the near future. if they were going to do a mix they would have done it to coincide with the album launch. also the lack of a promo mix to support the album is another factor.

I would agree. I bought the MTV new years eve from someone... it has the chems and basement jaxx .... the setlist for that live performance is basically the same too. Same 2 hr set list.

THe MTV set is really good. Solid 2 hrs. THe set list is the same as the DJ Paris 2 disc set. In Glint / Dusted Decks is basically the set list from the first half of both of those. And the reasons are because it was all around the same time period (so they were using the same/similar setlist at the time) ie. Aug 2001 - Jan 2002. As the first half of 2002 came, they incorporated more of Come With Us (for obvious reasons) into their set list.

actually the mtv mix is slightly different from the paris discs. star guitar was edited out of the mix on the mtv set.

what was the score with the mtv2 set?? i know it was broadcast on new years eve. where was it shown europe or north america?? what were the visuals for the show. surely not of the brothers djing?? i guess this mix was recorded in a studio and not performed live, cos it doesn't sound like they mix when they play out live!! it would be bizarre watching them miming on the decks!!

Well, no, it's not exact. I'm not saying that.

The liner notes on the disc i bought said the disc was made directly from the boards. And, since you can't really hear the audience, I wouldn't be surprised if that's correct. Maybe the engineer had a hookup to tape it.

There's also a wee intro by the chem duo saying happy new years eve, so i'm sure it was actually live.

yes but it is!! apart from star guitar is edited out, apart from that it is exactly the same. look this was recorded in a studio, it is not a live mix. some of those mixes you could not achive live on vinyl. trust me i do know what i am talking about when it comes to chems sets

With 30ish shows i think he really does maybe know a thing or two.

Im also sure mtv is done in studio as my version was them talking prior to it. Im guessing ANM and BGWIO are done in studio 2.
