im getting reason 2.5 by the end of next week (whether i have to pay for it or not), so if you'll give me a month or so i might be able to make a decent track, but still, be warned i have absolutely no experience at music production. i already have some ideas, but my main concern is that i wont be able to come up with anything(good).

morning people,
with regards to the sending of the tracks, i would rather receive them first and sort them individually so antype has the mastered copies to play with, rather then the other way round. i'll get better results mastering individual tracks first, it is a lot harder to master a whole 70 minute mix!!
yeah, if you RAR the files for download this will be OK, as that is not a loss-compression format, its bit for bit innit. I hear what your saying about 320 KBPS, and your prob right, but I just don't think you should degrade the signal at all if possible, esp when it comes to mastering as it makes quite a big difference to the top end. MP3 the whole mix at the end, that'll be cool, but get it sounding all nice and shiny first ;) :D
what would be good is if someone had webspace u can upload your RAR'd tunes to. I can then go in and get them and process them, then put them back for antype to mix.
what do ya rekkon?

oky doky then.
im willing to mix it if no one else is. i can do it live upstairs and it would mean bpms wouldnt be an issue. tis more fun to mix completely random tracks. depends what the feel of the cd is that people want though.

Hmm... I'm still not so hot on the mips mastering idea... See I'm scared it'll mess with my perfected mixdown!!! ;)
Okay.. what I'm planning to do is this: mix at 96Khz, 24Bit and put it straight on a DVD, then mail it to somebody, is that acceptable?
And what of surround sound? :D

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

*bump*
With 10 days to go, I just wanted to know how people are getting on? I've finished mine now (arrangement wise), just need to mix it properly. It's about 8 minutes long :? , at 125bpm.
Final check of who's in and who's not?
Oh, and artwork? Was a decision reached? It doesn't need to be done for like a month coz the tracks have gotta be mastered and then mixed together.

anType, as you're the guy who's mixing this thing, you have the advantage of using lots of little interlude-type things, kinda like "Delta FX" and the "Hey Riff", anything you think will add to the mix. Of course, you could use a whole track of your own, but if you don't think you've got time, don't fret too much. I'm sure you can add your own personal touch to the mix itself.
