hmmm you can almost smell the album news in the air, we can't be too far away, just a couple of months!!
anyway with any new chemical brothers album comes our famous electronic battle weapons. now we have had master p's theory on the next ebw, one i didn't support. but who knows
but i have a theory to. i reckon the next instalment in the ebw series will be issued in the next couple of weeks, to coincide with the miami WMC. miami is all about dishing out and/or getting new promos. normally after the new year there is a glut of new tunes till we get to miami, then the whole dance music industry go into overdrive. producers want to get there tunes signed, labels want to licence tunes to sell over the year. not that thats an issue with the chems, they got their record deal. but miami is a great platform for exposing new material on a global scale.
electronic battle weapon 5 was issued in may 2001 (6 months after i first heard it, he he!!!) just in time for the homelands festival. you couldn't move round homelands with out hearing IBIA. pete tong played it on his essential selection radio show the day before festival. it got great exposure.
i dont think the only reason the chemical brothers are going to miami is the ultral festival and the astralwerks party. it's to get the promos out!! only a theory
i will glued to radio one's miami coverage that weekend

The first time I heard It Began In Afrika was at Coachella, 2001 - I heard beforehad that they were roadtesting their new material and to keep an ear out for the "Afrika ka ka ka's" The boys got very excited and animated at the decks when they put it (and Galaxy Bounce) on, their expressions were dead giveaways.
I would so love to go to that music conference/ultra. I wanna hear the future.

chris Escribi:
once the latest EBW comes out, i'll buy it off ebay like i did with the others. i have my "electronic battle weapon" piggy back sitting in the corner. it's about to give birth to a sack of 20s.
so, how is everyone?

I'll be doing better as soon as I get some more medicine in me, and get some sleep. I have a bad cold/bronchial infection that's kicking my ass six ways from sunday, my back hurts, my body's tired but my brain's wide awake, and I've got a bad case of cabin fever. Other than that, I think I'm gonna live! In the meantime, I hope this medicine at least gives me a weird dream or two, you know, something really surreal and weird... :D

Thanks Ghundi, I'm feeling better, got a decent night's sleep but no weird dreams!
I say, to all you collectors out there, start saving your pennies so you can collect the newest EBW. Maybe if you get on e-bay right away, the way chris is planning, you can snag a copy first before any bootlegs infiltrate the market.
Of course, you all might end up in a bidding war with each other...

Glad you feel a bit better whirly.
About the new EBW.
Don't start a bidding war on the new things.
Just got a invoice for repairing my car.
It was EUR 844,03. (broken exhaust and some exhaust filter)
So my savings are gone again.
Owning a car is usefull but expensive.
