I'm really liking Skyward Sword so far, the combat is great!

also add to the list Rayman Origins (beautiful 2D) and maybe AC: Revelations.

So over the Thanksgiving weekend I couldn't help my self but to buy this little beauty.

Came with Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and of course its fucking awesome. Yet to fully explore the system to its full extent, but it looks like a lot of fun. I hope they continue to churn out all these nostalgic titles from the 64. Thats why I primarily bought it.

Batman Arkham City is such a great game ! For any Batman fan it's the ULTIMATE game. You don't play Batman in a videogame, you ARE Batman. Everything about this game is perfect, it's both a masterpiece of gameplay, level/chara design, and a gift for any fan, with its numerous references, goodies and other cool stuff.

Completed L.A. Noire yesterday. It was loooooooooooooooooooooong! Took me 25hrs to complete (just the main story line) and i'm used to games probably about 10hrs. It was pretty good, but far from perfect. It lacked the quality that I would expect from a 'noire' title (i'm thinking Max Payne) but it felt to me like it was the first game truly aimed at adults. I tried the black and white feature but it just looked like it was missing colour so they clearly never designed it to be in black and white, there was no style to it. Trouble is, if they did make a black and white game I imagine their sales would have been a lot less. I have never seen faces like that, so real (well, they are) and the acting was great. I was a really shit detective though, charging the wrong people, missing clues and just not being smart enough to work out wtf was happening.

so not huge news but thought you'd all like to know, another chems track (HBHG) will be in a video game. Lumines: Electronic Symphony for the Vita coming out next month. Yes, Star Guitar is already in Lumines 2. I personally like the series. Here is a explanation video with HBHG being played for a long time.

Let me say I am not a gamer and my talk in this thread is rather limited. But I have been playing something and I wanted to share. Journey is the most beautiful, moving gaming experience I've ever had. So far as I know it's only available on PS3. But if any of you have that console, I can't recommend it enough. The game travel is quick and can be played in a single sitting. It's gorgeous in its simplicity, intuitive in its gameplay, and you go from beginning to end across glittering desert sands to mountain snowscapes, through ancient ruins. You're alone but you meet companions along the way, never directly communicating with them but strangely bonding nonetheless. I needed to dry my eyes when I was done playing.

Just bought a PS3 just for this and Uncharted, cannot wait to play it, I heard the music is amazing too!

Yes, the music and sound effects in Journey is really great!

The company that made Journey (aptly calked thatgamecompany) also made 2 other games well worth your while - Flow and Flower. These games are a bit more abstract, less linear of a storyline than Journey but the gameplay is still intuitive and fluid, almost trancelike and relaxing to play (as well as beautiful to look at and listen to).

I haven't played unchartered but stash and Connor love it - they are the gamer geeks in the family so I take their word for it!

Oh, and since you're getting a PS3 you have to treat yourself to (the new) wipeout, it's ravetastic eye candy and it's just a solid, classic piece of exhilarating gaming. There are so few games I have the patience for when it comes to console gaming as I don't find the controls very intuitive and there aren't enough hours in a day. But the ones I mentioned here actually get me looking forward to playing - not sure what that's worth to anyone else but coming from me that says a lot, lol

^ flOw and Flower also look very relaxing. I remember the soundtrack of Wipeout for PS1 was probably one of the first to include electronic artists (Underworld,Prodigy,Orbital,The Chems,Photek) it was eargasmic.

Never heard of Journey but Whirly just sold it to me. Posted Image
Got PS3 solely for FF and Uncharted (which i cant praise enough) so MX have fun, it's great!

And finished Mass Effect 3 last night, what a strange game ending ... first 99% is great, wonderful storyline but last 1% sucks (bigtime), quite depressing really since last five years of ME was such a great journey...
