Even though I do recognize and appreciate the direction Liam's been on over the years, rocky breakbeat festival electro punk I would call it, I wished he would come up with something more differentiated and diverse like on The Jilted Generation for once. I'd like to see his music more varied and broad instead of that one particular style. I do love his last album Invaders Must Die because it showed that breakbeat and oldschool rave isn't dead yet and Liam deserves credit for it. But I also hope the new record will bring new Prodigy facets to the table.

Be interesting to see if this is an extension of that style and pretty much the same as IMD, or if there is anything new and experimental, because that's ultimately any bands goal. Liam has said it's probably his finest work, which nobody has ever said leading up to the release of a new record, but I like it that he sounds so passionate about it.
Most curious track in my opinion is the Ibiza...blah track!

The track I'm Most curious about is the closer, 'Ibiza...blah'.!
Either way, it's great to have them back...surely!?

I think sufficient time has past now to bring this up as I feel it has become a bit of a taboo but: I like Never Outgunned, Always Outnumbered. The music and beats are awesome! it is just that the vocals are annoying and kill the vibe. are there instrumentals?

Totally agreed; I was fond of IMD and I still think Liam could pull off the old Prodigy magic at the drop of a hat, but it saddens me to see them so... unambitious. Like they've considered their only job for the past decade to be reminding people they made The Fat Of The Land / occasional concessions to the fanatics over at The Prodigy forum like adding "Hyperspeed" to the setlist or something. And if they're going to pretend that nothing happened prior to TFOTL I at least wish they'd give Keith and Maxim some verses and choruses to work with instead of the little hooky nonsense vocal samples they've had for most of their career... it'd give them something to do live besides shout "ALL MY PRODIGY PEOPLE! ALL MY FUCKIN' WARRIORS", etc. Though of course my platonic ideal of a Prodigy album is still Jilted, which features basically zero Keith/Maxim contributions, so IDK. Liam has been saying this one's going to be in more of that style, though based on what we've heard of it so far that might just mean "darker than Invaders Must Die", which isn't much of a feat. I'm not asking - would never ask - for some sort of tacky rave revivalism, but I wish he'd take more of a page from Jilted, its carefully structured darkness, its immaculate fusion of paranoia and ecstasy, instead of just going for the "dark" mandate like he has pretty much every single album since (I mean, he called Invaders Must Die "toxic" in the leadup to it, there's really no way the album you issue is going to satisfy that).
That said I remember "Rok-Weiler" being a terrible rap-rock flip of "Killing In The Name" last time I heard it, and now it sounds pretty awesome, so maybe some progress has been made. They've still lost the magic that gave them titles like "No Good (Start The Dance)" though.

Was listening to this album in the car. I like this album and vocals don't bother me that much. But Prodigy overall sounds the same to me. Same distorted grunge guitar and big beats YAWN, its people like people on this forum that have kept them alive, holding on to some stupid notion that punk rave will make a comeback, cuz listening to prodigy reminds them of the time when they first heard prodigy in the summer of 1997 when they were rebellious teenagers and wanted to destroy everything around them. Listen to their live show NOW and what a fuckin mess it is. I can't hang with prodigy at all. One good song and that's it.

Well, for me, AONO has some great songs gathered and some really nice ideas compiled on it. I believe that some songs, however, are too repetitve and lack sort of inspiration which spoil the album's comprehensive experience. Take the first track Spitfire for instance. It's fucking great - at least it could be. The beat is sick, Juliette's voice is perfectly chosen to fit the song's vibe - but what else about it? It's about 5 minutes long but nothing really happens throughout. It's way too long and it keeps making recourse to its main theme and simple (but still ingenious) beat with the cowbell. That's not enough to make it a true evergreen (I like the song, though, but prefer the shorter version). Then there are songs like Wake Up Call, Get On Get Off which again have nice beat concepts but never go beyond that and stay put in a manner of speaking. The biggest disappointment in my opinion was Shoot Down for me. Its former festival version Trigger sounded promising and was a much better structured song than its final outcome. It's still a nice song but felt like it missed a great opportunity to become something great.
On the other hand, I really liked songs like Girls, Hotride, Action Radar and against the majority opinion of fans The Way It Is because they were more to the point and well balanced. Especially the latter surprisingly turned out to be something I really enjoy. Despite most of the fans bashing it for being a bad Jackson rip-off, I like the vibe and flow of it and the vocal sample Liam chose for the song.
