OK, so what's your favorite Chemical Brothers song to listen to while driving?

We all know they've got some good tunes for that sort of thing. It seems like they've got good songs for driving on long stretches of road late at night, good songs for driving as the sun is coming up/going down when you're dead tired after being out all night, good songs to listen to while driving on a deserted road...

Actually, any Chemical song works to break up the mundanity of the same roads I take to and fro each day... But some songs just make perfect sense, you know?

Some of you can't drive, or choose not to. So what's the best walking song? Song to listen to on your bike? On a train (Star Guitar of course)

Here's mine:

Best song to listen to at night on a deserted road - Enjoyed (and let me note, that when fog is added to the mix, the whole moment is just awesome!)

Cruising along Coast Highway next to the ocean on a sunny day - Otter Rock (Life doesn't get much better imo)

Any road with curves, preferrably those freeway on ramps - Loops of Fury (pretending to not only play, but be in WipoutXL)

A car jam packed with people on your way out somewhere - Galvanize, Song To The Siren and I can probably think of a few others.

An honorable mention would go to the song Morning Lemon which is just great to be played at high volume driving through the desert.

And you?

Yes, all the hip-hop songs like Get Yourself High or Left Right are cool to drive to when you're in an urban area. Elektrobank too.

Anything, actually. :)

Surrender is the ultimate driving album, if you ask me. Top to bottom, front to back, this album is the total driving experience, whether light, dark, foggy, raining, cloudy, stoned, sober, etc.

BGWIO is pretty nifty, too.

Enjoyed is probably my single favourite track for driving though, especially at night.

I remember the first time I heard CB live. My dad was driving me home from some camp and CB was playing at Hultsfred festival sweden. It was the surrender tour... it was so great that both me and my dad just didn't say a word just getting more and more absorbed with the music. I remember so well when they played the sunshine underground (allthough I did'nt know the name back then) truly magic. That was the moment when I truly got in love with the brothers...

When i was walking to a Gaming Competition down one of the mainstreets in Belfast ( Great Victoria Street - For those who know )

I was listening to Hold Tight London and i thought that a really good tune to listen to whilst walking and seeing all the cars and stuff.. it was about 2 to 3 months ago im sure it was hold tight london.. it was the PTB album anyway :D

And TPPR i was on the bus and looking out the window thinking about random shit and looking at the motions and in the background was TPPR. It was Really good :)

Yeah, the album Surrender is perfect music-in-motion all around. It's one of those that's great for driving places through any landscape.

It has a sort of concept feel (even though the Chems don't consider it a concept album) and it takes you on a day's journey of events sort of. Or more, a journey of the mind. When I first heard it, the album conjured up all these memories I had before any of those songs were in existance - a lot of Chems songs are like that for me, weird...

The last track, Dream On - there's just something about it that reminds me of being dead tired, the sun's coming up, and you're driving home from wherever and there's the promise of a nice warm spot to lay your weary head at the end of the journey.

And for some odd reason, there was a long stretch of time where whenever Sunshine Underground was played out in the car, we'd reach our destination at the exact same time the song ended. I mean, right up to the end when we'd put the car in park and turn off the ignition. It sort of freaked us out how that would always happen.

That, and how Surrender syncs up to just about anything. You know how that is, Darkstarexodus! ;)

I find that for me, there's a lot of Chems songs that sync up to what's going on around. Or sync up to what's on the television or whatever. It's so strange! It's also amusing when you're stuck at a traffic light and watching the unknowing people walk by in sync to the music.

I think what causes this phenomenon is there are so many layers of sound and percussion in Chemical Brothers songs, it's eventual that things sync up.

I know it sounds crazy, but you have to try this: Turn on the television and turn down the volume and listen to Surrender instead. I kid you not, things will sync up. It really doesn't matter what you're watching, it could be Shrek or discovery channel or cartoons or... It's sort of like how Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon syncs up to Wizard of Oz - but with Surrender it syncs with just about anything.

That is so funny , i do that all the time X-D

Well , i kind off make my own music. I do it with other music to but yeah , Chems sync of the best with all thats happening. I kinda make my own soundtrack while sitting in a train , or when i'm in the airport. it's like i'm watching telly !

That's a cool cue! I'm often improvisating a second melody (second voice thing) on a track which i'm listening to, it's like an own soundtrack X-D . Really funny sometimes. Or i'm often walking down the streets with a beat or melody in my mind. Sometimes i'm doing the beatbox.
