House music Mafioso’s The Shapeshifters, present their 2nd of 4 exclusive nocturnal parties in London this summer on Saturday 23rd June at EC1 hotspot Turnmills. The launch night kicked off on Easter Saturday to queues round the block and an up-for-it crowd inside, jumping around the sounds of the ‘Shifters and guests Martin Solveig and Martyn Ten Velden and the Trophy Twins. Looking to emulate the success of the debut bash, The Shapeshifters have upped the ante by bringing in US heavyweights Jon Cutler and Miguel Migs for a right ol’ ding dong behind the decks!!

Jon Cutler is the globe-trotting DJ, gifted producer/remixer and Distant Music main man. The NYC legend has been tearing up clubs all over the globe for what seems like forever, and his popularity remains as big as ever. His Distant Music label has released some of house music’s most seminal tracks including classic cuts like ‘You Groove Me’, ‘The Harmonica Walk’ and ‘African Jive’ on Distant… whilst his own track - ‘It’s Yours’ (for Chez Music) became a global anthem on its release in 2001. With over 20 years experience, Jon really is a true hero of the scene and his rare appearance will get all the heads out in force!! Similarly, the ‘heads’ will be looking forward to an all too rare set from the masterful Miguel Migs, who jets into the UK as part of his European tour to promote new album ‘Those Things’. Miguel Migs stands at the forefront of electronic music's soulful realm. Whether tackling his original productions or remixes (Macy Gray, Lionel Ritchie etc), he always achieves an organic-soulful sound by combining the best of both the electronic music world and live instrumentation. His impressive discography includes more than 100 original productions and remixes on independent labels such as Naked Music, Astrelwerks, Yoshitoshi, NRK, Om Records and Defected amongst others and he’s also released a number of cult compilations for labels like Defected and Southport Weekender. Never one to sit still, Migs started his own label Salted Music in 2004 and continues to deliver some of the freshest sounding grooves around!!

The Shapeshifters will themselves rock the dancefloor good and proper too, as they embark on a mega 4 Hour Set to close the night in style. Well it is their party after all?!!!! nocturnal is of course the club off-shoot to their successful label – nocturnal groove and the night continues to grow after they successful stay at the AKA Bar where they entertained regular guests of the calibre of Frankie Knuckles. Look out for a busy summer ahead, which includes their first ever full live show at London’s acclaimed South West Four festival amongst other major gigs. Also on the bill for party no.2 will be nocturnal groovers – Def E, Simon Hawes and Mardel, plus good-vibes party starter Spencer Parker… a favourite of the Turnmills faithful. Eddie Scratch throws down the beats upstairs in Topfloor all night long!!

The last word goes to The Shapeshifters as they look ahead to another busy night…

“The atmosphere throughout Turnmills for the Launch party was pretty special and believe me we’ve done a few nocturnal’s over the years and this was one of the best!! Not only did the venue look great with new lights, visuals and 100% improved DJ Box, the crowd of many absolutely came to party and made us really excited for future parties. The second instalment of four parties this year sees us joined by two of our favourite producers Jon Cutler and Miguel Migs. It’s the 2nd time at nocturnal for Jon and those who remember the first will defiantly be back for round 2 as he simply rocked the place and we couldn’t wait to play with him again. Miguel continually produces great records and is one of the USA’s finest DJs. We look forward to welcoming him onto our turntables and sampling the best crowd in London. Job Done!”
