I've been noticing latley that we are the night is getting huge promotion. I saw the chemical brothers being interviewed on tv the other day. Music stores have massive posters of we are the night and now I see that msn is advertising the salmon dance video at the bottom of messenger (look for yourself). Not to mention the chems being on the myspace home page (no myspace bashing please). I think the "we are the night promoters" have done a very good job. Everyday I see something about the chemical brothers.

This may just be new for me because i'm in Canada, i'm sure the UK gets huge chems promotion.

Anyone else see some cool advertising? Perhaps the WATN cover on a Zeppelin? :D

You saw the pics of the storefront in Hoxton Square right?

In Australia they have pretty girls hit on you that talk about WATN. Clever. May just be me though. And it might be me talking about WATN. Actually...

There aren't many music stores near me, and I haven't had much time lately to venture outside my realm to see what type of marketing/promotions are being done for We Are The Night. I miss working at Tower Records sometimes.

It's cool to see the word getting out, using different avenues as tools for marketing We Are The Night. I wish I could see what's out and about in the UK - wonder if there's a big front facing window display for We Are The Night at the Piccadilly Virgin (like there was for Push The Button). When I went on my holiday to the UK in January 2005, Push The Button had completely permeated London. It was a little bit like being in heaven, haha, walking down the street or getting on the tube and seeing flyers and big posters hanging everywhere. And hearing Galvanize pumping out of various establishments. Ah, good stuff. Sorry for the reminiscing.

Anyway, a giant We Are The Night zeppelin would be wicked. I'd probably drive right off the side of the road if I saw something like that hovering in the sky.

I haven't really seen much in LA or in the Inland Empire regarding promotions...Except a little section dedicated to WATN in my local music store in Riverside, and said to say, it seemed like no one but me bought the cd...But again, this was in Riverside (in the boonies)...But I'm glad to hear that places elsewhere the UK are getting some promotion...

Music stores have unfortunately become a rarity in some parts of the world where once upon a time, they flourished...

Oh, ok. I thought it might be a refrence to how there is a lot of bad music now these days, hence not calling it music.

I don't really go to the record store anymore... no real reason to. Anyways, they tend to be more punk and the two rows of electronic disks typically don't cut it. I know the devil has an ipod, but record stores need to have an agreement with apple/mp3 player companies in order to setup machines that will directly download music to your mp3 player. That way, you can go to the store, plug in, and the move on.

Or better yet, if juke boxes would allow you to transfere music to/from them.

but i am tired and am rambling.

I love going downtown to all the little record stores here. Every time I go, I find something I didn't have before. But as for stores like HMV, I can't even be bothered to check whats in them anymore.
