mr. reaction: link expired ... why don't you use the usual repository? Is the track a work-in-progress or something?

Gillenium:

I put some of your tracks on the background while I was doing other stuff on the computer ... and I have to say that I can't recollect any details about "Dewy Embers" now. "Breaking Orbit" was more structured and/or it had something that I'm still feeling after listening to it. "Moon Burn" holds the interest for quite some time into the song but the end went a little bit random again I think.

So all in all, if your goal or let's say target with these tracks is to have something nice and pleasant going on in the background then you have already accomplished your goal but if you would like people sharing my interests to get even more out of your tracks then the sort of randomness/memorability ratio would be something you could look into. Currently some tracks are more memorable and some are less. Well, it's always like that I guess but maybe you could increase the number of memorable ones :)

On the production side I think you are doing very well! :) Peaceful and pleasant stuff!

Interesting you said that since I have always thought that you have the potential to make the sort of tracks that I like very much. Maybe we have partly interleaving tastes in music?

Too bad there's

a) too many other interesting and important things to do in life and

b) my interest in making music seems to fluctuate somewhat

so that at least I am not willing to drop everything and focus on a musician career ... har har .. I guess it's the same for you also

Oh yeah, and here are some new tracks! It's really time to unload them since they have been stuck in a near-finished form on my computer for more than half a year!

So people please grab the track that interests you the most and give some comments, ok?

First one on the line is a track called Progressive Syrup ... and it is basically an improvised one-take six minute piano solo:

Progressive Syrup.mp3

The second one is a track called Rolling Of My Tongue ... this is the sort of music I've done previously so what you can expect is a combination of different electronic sub-genres. I would say that it is a bit dry but catchy nonetheless:

Rolling Of My Tongue.mp3

And the third one is called Humidity ... it's definitively ambient ...if you allow the broadest definition of ambient imaginable. Not a very complex track but everything seemed to fit into place in this one:

Humidity.mp3

Now, onto that one remix project that also has been sitting on the shelf for half a year. I have had three minutes worth of material on my music player and I haven't had the energy to go mess it up but now I have some ideas that need to be tested out.

I have to say Humidity was my favorite.

I've tried making music, especially something that sounds happy or upbeat, but I have a harder time doing that. I just like how it's a lot happier than most stuff I try to make.

Some shorter notes because it's damn late now:

As almost always: I'm digging the effort you've done. You've got quite a really good feeling for making melodies that are unique. My favs right now is Progressive Syrup (would love to remix it :-D) and Rolling My Tongue. Progressive Syrup seems to be recorded live and kind of vamp, isn't it?`I like it. Could imagine a nice mellow electro track with that.

Btw, I'm stil waiting for your remicks of my Papermoons GLow. Will it be finished anytime?

And: at the moment, music means a lot in my life up to a point where anything else seems less appealing

No, serious, i love music and my statement about a music duo was kidding. Even though it wouldn't be a bad idea imo.

Thanks everyone!

Wow, I didn't know the word 'vamp' until I took a look at wikipedia. Sure you can remix Progressive Syrup, the track that's online is everything I got of it! Or would you like to have the MIDI score?

Papermoon's Glow remix is coming up next, I just purged the other lame tracks out of the way :P (like I said on my last post I have three minutes worth of material done but it's not quite enough yet I think)

I don't care about fashion of music. As long as it is good. Old or new, who cares...

hey that sounds good, but the kick sounds too weak. You should change it and make it louder. The rest is good though.

I'm working on something really good. It should be finished in a few days !
