I agree with your sentiment Stumpbone - I think the Chems moving into this direction and providing aural soundscapes to film is an exciting move! We have talked about it here in the forum in the past and to see this finally being a reality is an awesome and promising development (from a fan perspective). I have no doubts about the music.

I know you didn't ask me what I think of Virgin Suicides but I'll chime in anyway, since Air's score is one of my favorite movie soundtracks of all time. :) I thought the film was good. Not great. But good. Sophia Coppola's style of directing can seem tedious at times but I thought the story itself was dark and intriguing, and the acting and direction and other aspects of the film I thought were good. The music was a perfect compliment to the film in that it was dark and dreamlike. In the end though, I thought the music transgressed the boundaries of the film. I certainly have listened to the soundtrack more times than the single viewing I had of The Virgin Suicides.

We'll see what Hanna has in store. I'll reserve judgment of the film until I see it for myself. I sure hope there's a theater close to me that will show it!

Whirly... is it weird that we were typing our posts at the same time? I love little cosmic shit like that. You're somewhere else in the world and we're having a conversation. (cubicle time drives me to think about stuff like that. I'd rather be in a mom administered time out. At least then, I could sneak some legos in my pocket)

So I couldn't have said it better myself. The soundtrack has been played many a time in my iPod, and I do think of the scenes from the film but I don't pop the DVD into my player.

The funny thing about this being an assassin movie, is that when I'm walking through the streets of Chicago after leaving work, I like to bump "Electrobank" or "Setting Sun" and picture that a big Bourne Identity scene breaks out and I'm running from a bunch of hired guns on my Vespa trying to get a top secret file into the correct hands. In other words, I bet the Chems are going to do action really fucking well. I think it's gonna be absolutely sick, regardless of how I'm still an 8 year old when I'm leaving work.

I would like to point out though, I would give me left pinky finger to get a studio extended version of the "Out of Control/Setting Sun" mix from the current tour. The things the Chems do with already produced material is unvelievable to me. That moment at the show here on labor day gave my whole body goosebumps. I just stood there shaking my head (and imagining my chase scene [holds up finger shape of gun and backs up against wall])

Cheers!

Definitely, even if it's only for the 5 (or was it 4 ?) hot blonde girls, and the soundtrack.

I think you can legally call 4 of them hot. One was 9 years old or some shit.

Kirsten Dunst had my heart in a vice for two years after that movie.

http://www.music-new...nItemID=37293..

"Tom admits it was great to be asked to contribute to the film - which is believed to be 'Indian Summer', which is based on the book 'Indian Summer: The Secret History of the End of an Empire' by Alex von Tunzelmann - because it's a new challenge for him and bandmate Ed Simons."

So is this another film or have they just got the name wrong?

Indian Summer is the name of an upcoming film that Joe Wright's directing, but I don't think that it's related to The Chems at all.

And on a side note, it would be cool if they teamed up with Noel again.

Even if it was only 1 or 2 songs, that would be very cool.

Nice find, search 'hanna comic con' or 'joe wright hanna' on youtube and you can find a ton of that stuff.

Here's some pretty interesting bootleg footage of Eric Bana in a fight scene:

I just read the synopsis... It sounds like Danny the dog, but with a girl instead of a chinese guy, nothing less, nothing more :/

Plus a bit of Nikita. And Danny the Dog wasn´t bad at all actually. It seems you aren´t too patriotic with french cinema, ben_j Posted Image

Yeah. I looked on Allocine (the french equivalent to IMDB, only much less good) but the original title wasn't there.

I never said it was a bad movie. I really like it (and great OST by Massive Attack) but it's just that the synopsis to Hanna sounds too similar :)

And I didn't remember Louis Letterier directed it. He's not the best director ever... He's just the next Luc Besson.

At least you have a lot of great action directors in France. The Taxi films had some scenes simply Posted Image , they were very fun. I´ve seen pretty awesome French films recently (Rapt comes to mind).

Hanna has a B-movie feel all over it, and it´s what cinema needs now, like bad-ass fun. Not Harry Potter 26.

Nope, nothing new. But I assume there'll be a good amount of buzz on this once the 2011 tour starts up and new material starts getting dropped.
