I with you MalBoul59, Metallica rock! \m/ well, they did. I still haven't got round to listening to their latest album but it's supposed to be like the old stuff. St. Anger was a mess. No matter what shit they make, you can never replace the genius that is the black album

Anyone who calls the black album "genius" is suspect.

The Black album is a good one but I wouldn't say genius...compared to Master Of Puppets for example !

The black is the beginning of Metallica's "less and less heavy" career, but it's nevertheless quite good. I would say much accessible, with easy hits like "Enter Sandmann" or "Nothing Else Matters", than the older stuff.

I don't equate easier access with artistic merit, though I'll admit I'm a bit of an elitist sometimes. Pretentious, definitely.

But what Metallica was and what Metallica became are two different things, the former having my respect for a number of my teen years, and arguably still today, the latter having my disdain.

But they still rock when they play concerts ! They have a lot of energy and we see that they enjoy playing...ok, you have to spend the money but I think it's worth it. (don't forget that some people could spend much than $ 1000 to see the Bros in DJ Set...).

@inchemwetrust: Nice to see a fellow owner of Cybotron 'Clear'! Although I must admit I only tend to bother with Clear (the track) and Cosmic Cars.

@mcmarsh

I grew up on that stuff. Usually played with the old school hiphop in those times. Also listen to Egyptian Lover.

Another by Cybotron called 'R9' is way better then 'Clear'.
