Question, why do the Chemical Bros. play everywhere but the US. I saw them at Coachella a few years back and they haven't been around since.

Just curious.

Mainly because they're not as appreciated (with the exception of a few rabid fans) in the US as they are everywhere else in the world.

I really hope they give us another shot, especially after the moderate success of Galvanize here.

I want to see them so bad, but it just isn't economically viable for me to fly all the way to Europe or Japan to do so :(

I hope they keep their promise this for this tour and come to the states--Dallas, Chicago, or Denver would be amazing!

I have to say if that's the case it's definately our loss. Los Angeles is starving for more.

I feel even more sorry for Canada and Australia, they both have a very large fan base, but the chems never play there.

For the love of God... "definite" in all its forms has no 'a' in the word.

And the Chems will play shows here... I can feel it.

Little know fact about us rabid North American Chems fans.....

We're part animalistic about Tom and Ed and somehow contract rabies along the way....it explains my 'Kick Ass' shirt I wear to all the gigs I've seen them at.

Still waiting for either a Vancouver gig (likely, am willing to travel for it) or an edmonton gig (LOL not a chance even in my own mind...though I would be in ecstasy if they did come here).

I'm hoping for a Los Angeles date, too!! It's nice to see another Californian, a S. Californian on board. What year Coachella did you see the Chems?

It's been a while since the Chems played a non-festival gig in S. California - I've only ever seen them play at festivals and I can't complain but would love the chance to see them do their own gig somewhere here in S. California. Travelling too far from home for me is so hard.

Here's hoping!! I have faith!

'I was under the influence'

Speaking of America and the like, me and a couple of friends were out seeing a local blues gutarist, Rab McCullogh, great guy, but whilst on our mad night out we happened to spot a bunch of girls and one guy on the dancefloor - my friend instantly said ''Americans'', the jeans held way above their waists, really didnt help in hidiing their nationalitie.. Nor did the raincoats - HAHA :P

But they were a nice bunch we sat and talked to them, turned out they were from Chicago - and were cops or something, on vacation. We told them the best spots to visit in Belfast and they showed us some handshakes and talked to us about stuff - was very interesting. They asked

'Is it safe to visit West Belfast... :O:O We wont get hurt will we?'

We just said 'Dont worry they will love you!! Just ask.. - Wheres the falls?' You'll get a nice response :);)

They were nice people. :D - This should really go into buzzed posting. School tomorrow.

When my friend and I went to Dublin Ireland - this was back in 1991 - it seemed like everyone we met were interested in hearing about California when they asked where I was from. "Oh, so you have tremors there, yeah? Where the ground opens up and swallows ya? So the weather's nice yeah? And palm trees everywhere just like in the movies?" Then when I told them I lived about 40 miles south of Los Angeles came the questions about Do you see movie stars walking down the street?" Which I replied, "Sure - about as often as you see Bono strolling down Grafton street!" But everyone was so friendly. Maybe they were makin' small talk with 2 young yankee lasses - but they were nice. My friend and I got lost and people were so helpful with helping us find our way. And we met a nice little old nun on the train who recommended a place to stay, got off the train with us walked us to an old friends' who happened to run a bed and breakfast out in Dalkey.

I'm babbling. Another thread hi-jacked. Sorry!!

I consider myself a S. Cali fan, since any show they put on between May and August will be attended by yours truly. Dates other than in those months we'll have to look at. Anywhere else, save London, won't be blessed with a Darkstar appearance.

Hell Darkstar, you're a resident by default and you're practically our son's Uncle Tim!

I have a feeling it won't be August when the Chems are here, though. I think it was irishfan who said it'll likely be in September. I'm just waiting for the dates to come. Either way it would be so great to have you here if you can make it. You know you're always welcome!

I also doubt they'll be down there by August, which means I'll almost certainly miss out this time around. It's a shame but there's not much I can do about it, I suppose.

I was mad when I missed the ONE concert (1999?) where Fatboy and the Chems played... Redrocks I think? It was out west. Then, I missed out on Coachella (hard to find money after getting divorced)... So i'm NOT going to miss another U.S. appearance dammit. hehe...

Kolosine, who left Astralwerks three months ago after 13 years with the label, is handling the Chems' licensing outreach, and helping get their tricky American tour (with its thick gear rider and video demands), scheduled to start in September

Errol? Right on... that's a reallly good article (even tho... North Jersey? *shudder* "you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy") Soups, you need to post in in it's own thread somewhere.
