Well good for you! And would you like to know how we're spending the rest of the money we earn?
Listen kid, home is where we are and it may sound pathetic to your young idealisitic broadened world view, but we spend a lot of time here at home with family and friends. So what we buy to improve the place we spend a lot of time at is money well spent. Gaming systems aren't my first choice, but that was money my husband earned and that is how he wished to spend it. Last time I had a wad to blow I put it toward London. This time it was my husband's choice, being the homebody he is this makes sense.
Now run along and start saving your pennies so you can move out from mom and dad's house.

Doesn't matter if it melts, I paid for the extended warranty.
actually, I dropped over a grand all together, got a new 1,000 watt reciever 5.1 surround system too. I was gonna get the 7.1 (yes, the PS3 does 7.1), but there's a giant Chemical Brothers display where I'd need to put the other 2 speakers.
I've seen the Chems. A buncha times. I've been to London. A buncha times.
What I'd never done before was play a video game in 1080p High Def over wireless internet.
The chems are fun. Probably the most fun you can ever have, at least with your clothes on.
But let's say the chems are a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being, I dunno, a trip to the dentist. Let's say they're 10 fun points an hour.
Now a show, that nets you 20 fun points (don't get me started on a trip to Europe. Between the jet lag there, the jet lag back, the hassle of the airport and the time spent on a plane, a trip to Europe is probably a NEGATIVE amount of fun points all told) for a 2 hour chems show.
Let's say that playing bleeding edge video games is a 5. Hell, maybe it's only a 2 for you. For me, it's closer to an 8. Now I get to play it every night if I want, for the next couple years.
I'm sorry, but the cumulative amount of fun is higher than a single Chems show.
And Incoherent Person, I've played S.T.A.L.K.E.R., it's not bad at all. I'd actually followed the development these last 5 years or so. Never thought it was actually gonna come out.

Well, I actually appriciated Stash's response more then Whirly's, which just doesn't make sense.
And I. DONT. GIVE. A. FUCK. what you guys do with your money, it's yours to spend. I was just putting in my two cents, which just so happens to be perfectly, normal, behavior for online forums. Or did I miss a memo or something?
Whirly, Im not totally sure why you needed to use a personal attack to get your point through. But if it's because I've said something in the past or Im just plain annoying you, I appologize.
